The holidays can magnify grief, exhaustion, worry, and pressure. Sending love, softness, and permission to take it one breath at a time. ❤️🎀🤍

November 22nd is International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day.

This day honors those who carry the weight of losing someone to su***de—a grief that is profound, complex, and deeply personal. There is no timeline and no “right” way to heal. The journey each survivor takes is as unique as they are, and we stand with you in that journey.

To support survivors on their journey of grief, AAS provides a range of resources, including guides, handbooks, links to support groups, and a Healing After Loss Summit at the AAS Annual Conference. https://ow.ly/sHwC50Xrx9k

✨ World Su***de Prevention Day ✨

Today is a reminder that behind every statistic is a real person with a story, a family, and a future that matters. More than 700,000 people die by su***de each year — but su***de is preventable. And prevention doesn’t just belong to professionals; it belongs to all of us.

If you’ve ever struggled with thoughts of su***de, please hear this—you are not weak, you are not a burden, and your life has value beyond measure. The world needs you here, even if your mind sometimes tells you otherwise.

And if you’ve ever wondered how to help someone you care about — it can be as simple (and as powerful) as starting a conversation. Asking “Are you okay?” or “Are you thinking about su***de?” won’t put the idea in someone’s head. It shows them they don’t have to carry their pain alone. Listening without judgment, staying present, and helping them connect to support can truly save a life.

Hope doesn’t always come in grand gestures. Sometimes it’s in a text that says, “I’m thinking of you.” A call that says, “Let’s get coffee.” A reminder: “You matter to me.” Small moments of connection ripple out further than we can see.

Today, let’s commit to changing the narrative around su***de. Let’s talk about it openly, without shame. Let’s remind people that reaching out is a strength, not a weakness. Let’s be the reason someone remembers that there is still hope, still light, still tomorrow.

💛 If you are struggling today: In the U.S., dial or text 988 for free, confidential support. If you’re outside the U.S., please look up your local crisis line — you deserve help and you deserve to be here.

You are not alone. You are loved. And your story is not finished yet.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month — a time to come together, break the silence, and remind each other that no one has to face their pain alone. Too often, struggles are hidden behind quiet smiles, and lives are lost in the silence of battles no one else can see. This month, let’s shine a light into those dark spaces, speak openly about mental health, and remind ourselves and others: your life has meaning, your voice matters, and your story isn’t over.

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it’s an act of courage. Healing doesn’t happen all at once, but every step toward hope is a step worth celebrating. You are worthy of love, worthy of healing, and worthy of tomorrow.

If you are struggling, please know that help is always within reach. In Georgia, you can call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225 — available 24/7, every day of the year. You can also call or text 988 (the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline) to connect immediately with someone who cares and understands.

This September and always: check on your friends, speak kindness into the world, and hold space for those who feel like they can’t keep going. Together, we can replace silence with compassion, and despair with hope.

While we are disappointed, we are encouraged by our advocates, who contacted Congress more than 155,000 times and who haven't given up. NAMI will not give up either -- our fight will continue to & .
