The Calhoun Woman’s Club
held its annual Boston Butt Scholarship lunch funraiser. Our club gives a $1000 scholarship to a deserving senior from each of the local high schools. Education is expensive so every little bit helps.

Our ladies were busy buying supplies, getting our lunches together and delivering them.

Special thanks to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church - Calhoun, Georgia for allowing us to use your facilities.

Thank you to all that purchased from us, those that made donations and most of all everyone that supported us.

We are dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service.

The Calhoun Woman’s Club held its February meeting and focused on Health and Wellness. A little self care was in order for Valentine's Day. Rachel Boling and Marissa Gamble with ML Solutions, Infusions, IV Therapy & Essential Care provided information on their Galentine's Glow specials. Rachel talked about their affordable healthcare options and when oral medications are not enough infusion therapy may offer an alternative.

Naomi Dixon, of Calhoun High School, was nominated by her teacher Kellie DeGuire for The Young Woman of the Month. Kellie said, she excels in the classroom and on the volleyball court. Naomi received flowers and was awarded a $50 gift card along with a certificate of merit. Naomi will pursue her education at Georgia College & State University.

Our next meeting will be March 12th at the Harris Arts Center. Melanie Beamer from Homespun Hospice will be our speaker. Come join us and check out our Spring Basket.

The Calhoun Woman’s Club enjoyed their second Spring Tea at Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care. There were plenty of finger sandwiches, various teas with cream and sugar cubes, along with assorted deserts and savory snacks to go around.

The club made rose flowered crowns with berry vines and branches for each resident to wear. When they put them on their smiles lit up the room.

We all had a special treat when one of the residents played the piano for us.

As they prepared to leave, residents made sure to take a door prize with them. It gives us joy to be able to be able to bring joy to others.

During our meeting plans were finalized for our second Boston Butt Scholarship Lunch. Proceeds go to our scholarship fund for three $1000 scholarships to local high school seniors. The cost of education is rising.

Keep February 26th open for lunch for a good cause. See attached flyer.

Our next meeting will be February 12th at the Calhoun Gordon County Library. Refreshments start at 11:30
