Isaiah 117 House Calhoun Co MI Providing physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting placement ♥️🏠 Please support the Isaiah 117 House.

When children are removed from their homes out of the concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children's Services Offices to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and often in dirty clothing. Isaiah 117 wants to provide a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait-a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide them clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space will allow children to receive the comfort and care they need while DCS staff are able to do the necessary paperwork and identify a good foster placement. Support the Cause:

We’re feeling extra thankful for Amelia Yager & Brylee Etheridge! 🥰

These two friends spent their summer making and selling bracelets to raise money for Isaiah 117 House—and they raised an amazing $103! 🎉📿

We love seeing kids use their creativity, friendship, and big hearts to make a difference for other kids. What started as a table full of colorful bracelets turned into $103 of hope for a Red Door Guest. ❤️

This Week's Volunteer Spotlight: ✨Charity Chase!✨

Charity has been involved with Isaiah 117 House since the idea of a Michigan location was first brought to the leadership team in Tennessee. Her love for the Lord, along with the message of James 1:27, drew her to our mission as we work to 'help children on one of their worst days'.

She describes volunteering with Isaiah House as ‘thought-provoking’, ‘fulfilling’, and she most enjoys ‘sharing God’s love with others in a tangible way’.

A memorable experience she’s had in the house so far was when she spoke with a discouraged case manager. Their conversation led her to realize how short our county is on foster homes and how hard it is to find placement.

With eight kiddos aged 2 to 14, there are many opportunities for joy in Charity’s life. The beautiful weather lately has made her excited for one last family camping trip together before the cold settles in!

“I am inspired by Charity’s heart. The love she has for her family, for kids, and for God is immediately apparent upon meeting her. Her life revolves around what is truly important, and we are so blessed that she devotes time from her busy schedule to serving with us,” Logen remarks.

We’re so thankful for the Women’s Thursday Night Golf League at Marshall Country Club, who once again turned their weekly mulligan money into something that matters—$300 for Isaiah 117 House! 🎉

They may have taken a few extra swings, but this donation is definitely on par. 😉

A story from a volunteer at our open home:

"Sometimes in life we get a gentle reminder that many of the things we take for granted on a daily basis can truly be precious gifts in the lives of others.

Two teenage guests that recently visited the home reminded me of this simple lesson. Surrounded by all the new things in the Giving Room from clothing, shoes, jewelry, pajamas, the list goes on and on, these 2 sisters were so blessed by the fact that they could each have their own pack of toothpaste, hair care products and most importantly, pimple patches! Simple items we quite possibly never give a second thought to, but were treasures to these 2 sisters who told me they would share if there wasn't enough for everyone to have their own. ❤️

I was so humbled by their concern for others on one of their toughest days and reminded once again of how much joy the simple treasures bring to life, especially on days when you have left behind everything you call your own."

We’re always amazed by the variety of items that come through our door and love wondering which child each one will speak to.

❤️ Every number represents a child, a story, and a community coming together to make a difference.
In September, we welcomed 6 children through our red door, packed 19 additional bags for children entering foster care, and provided 1 bed and 5 car seats to help foster families prepare for the children entering their homes.
Some children spend time in our home, while others are served through the resources we provide to caseworkers and foster families. No matter how we serve them, our mission remains the same: to reduce trauma, lighten the load for caseworkers, and ease the transition for foster families.
To every volunteer, Bin Buddy, donor, and community partner who makes this possible, THANK YOU! Because of you, children experiencing some of their hardest days are being met with love, dignity, and practical support.
