Isaiah 117 House Calhoun Co MI Providing physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting placement ♥️🏠 Please support the Isaiah 117 House.

When children are removed from their homes out of the concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children's Services Offices to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and often in dirty clothing. Isaiah 117 wants to provide a comforting home

where these children instead can be brought to wait-a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide them clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space will allow children to receive the comfort and care they need while DCS staff are able to do the necessary paperwork and identify a good foster placement. Support the Cause:

Isaiah 1:17 says:
"Defend the cause of the fatherless." We believe this is God's call for this ministry.

Three months. One quarter. So many little lives impacted. ❤️

Since opening our doors on May 31, we’ve had the privilege of serving children in ways we prayed and dreamed about for so long.

The numbers in this graphic may look like simple statistics, but behind every one is a child—someone who needed a safe place, a bag of essentials, a bed to sleep in, or a car seat for the journey ahead.

In just our first quarter, we’re humbled by all that God has allowed us to be part of. And we’re especially grateful for the incredible community that has made it possible through giving, serving, donating, praying, and showing up.

Three months down. A lifetime of impact to go. ❤️

Thank you for being part of the story.

🍽️ WE DID IT! 54% AND COUNTING! 🍽️

We’re celebrating 27 restaurant gift cards donated through our Dine-Out Challenge this August! 🎉 That puts us at 54% of our goal of 50 gift cards!

But there’s still time to help us cross the finish line. ⏰

If you haven’t taken the challenge yet, this is your last call! Grab a gift card from your favorite local restaurant and donate it to Isaiah 117 House. Whether it’s $10, $25, $50 or more, every gift card helps us provide our Red Door Guests with a meal they choose—and a little comfort during a difficult day.

27 down, 23 to go! ❤️ Let’s see if we can reach 50 before August ends!

Why Wednesday: A Story from OUR Open Home ❤️

He stepped out of the minivan, and as he set his cowboy boots on his suitcase, it was quickly apparent, his style was country.

Once inside, he made his way to the Giving Room, where it was easy to see there were a number of things that spoke to him as he “shopped” for the items he needed.

But when he came back downstairs, there was one item in particular that caught my attention: a cowboy hat.

I couldn’t help but wonder where it had come from. I asked my coworkers if they remembered seeing it donated or knew who had brought it in. No one did.

So often, we get a front-row seat to the ways God goes before us, quietly weaving together details we couldn’t possibly plan. Usually, an item comes through our doors and we find ourselves wondering, which one of our guests will this be perfect for? Stuffed animals, fuzzy blankets, a cute summer dress...

But this time was different.

We don’t know who donated that cowboy hat or how long it had been waiting in our Giving Room, but when we saw it in his hands, there was no mistaking who it had been waiting for. (Thank you, mystery hat giver!)

This is why. ❤️

And stories like this are exactly why we fundraise.

That cowboy hat was freely given. So were the clothes he chose, duffel bag he packed, the brownies he ate, and the safe place he had to land. Our home exists because a community of people and businesses decided that children entering foster care deserve to be surrounded by love, dignity, and a little bit of joy on a really hard day.

On Saturday, September 19th, we'll gather at Cedar Creek Golf Course for our annual golf tournament, and we still have room for more Hole Sponsors (and teams) to join us!

For $250, your business, organization, family, or group can sponsor a hole and help us continue filling our Giving Room, stocking our pantry, keeping the lights on, and having our home ready when the next child walks through our red door.

We don't always know exactly what or who we're preparing for. We just want to be ready when they arrive.

🍎📚 Back-to-School Blues? We’ve got a delicious solution! 🍔🍟

The backpacks are packed, the school supplies are purchased, and everyone is settling back into a new routine. Why not take a break from the back-to-school hustle and dine out for a good cause?

Take the Dine-Out Challenge! 🍽️

Enjoy a meal at your favorite restaurant, then purchase a gift card for about the same amount and donate it to Isaiah 117 House. Those gift cards help us provide our Red Door Guests with meals they choose—bringing a little comfort and normalcy during a difficult time.

And with school back in session, we're still working toward our goal of 50 restaurant gift cards this August!

So shake off those back-to-school blues, grab some dinner, and help us serve up a little extra hope. ❤️
