Well, Colorado had other plans for us this morning 😅

Our "Fun Run in the Sun" was met with cold temps and strong winds today, so we made the call to reschedule. A little hard to run in the sun when there isn't any! New date coming soon — stay tuned!

BUT — While we may have been weathered out, the Leos Club of Calhan was NOT. 💪 Earlier this week, 8 Leos members hit the streets of Calhan and collected 10 bags of trash as part of their community service project during Lione International's Weeks of Service Environmental Focus Week.

10 bags. That's a cleaner Calhan. Way to go, Leos!🌎♻️

We're proud of these young leaders and grateful they showed up for our community. The Lions spirit is alive and well in Calhan!

The Calhan Lions Club Student of the Month for April 2026 is Judah Shaw. Judah is a Junior at Peyton Highschool and an ambitious young man who wants to go far. He has a strong passion for music, gardening, and running and loves to share his passion with others. He plays many different instruments and continues to challenge himself to learn more. His hope is to retire one day and be able to teach music to the younger generation. Judah, however, is not waiting until he is older to impact his community. He is active in many realms, including participating in food drives, helping with pet shelters, tutoring at his school, and playing music at his local church. After high school he hopes to be accepted into the Air Force Academy and major in either engineering or dentistry. Congratulations to Judah on his current accomplishments and best wishes for his future endeavors!

🐣 What a day!

The Calhan Lions Annual Easter Egg Hunt is in the books — and what a turnout! 22 kids showed up ready to hunt, and hundreds of eggs were collected in just about 15 minutes. That's the kind of Calhan energy we love to see! 🥚🌷

Thank you to every family that came out this afternoon, and a huge thank you to our Calhan Lions Club volunteers who made it all happen. Events like this are why we do what we do.

Happy Easter, Calhan! See you next year. 🐇

Kids are grouped by age so everyone gets a fair shot at the eggs:
