Another Chance Dog Rescue Another Chance Dog Rescue is an all volunteer, all breed, 501(c)3 nonprofit animal rescue group in central Alabama. We do not have a facility.

All pets are fostered in homes in the Greater Birmingham Metro area and surrounding counties. Another Chance Dog Rescue is an all breed animal rescue group utilizing foster homes throughout the Greater Birmingham Metro area. Meet and greets are scheduled when we have an adoption in progress. We rescue strays and abandoned dogs/cats and shelter dogs. We provide weeks to months of fostering and medical care before finding permanent homes. We are not a rehoming service for owner surrenders. Dogs are pack animals and look at their human family as their pack. If you have a dog outside, please consider making him/her a part of your family. Please reach out to us for information on crate-training your dog. We advocate spay/neuter to control the over-population of homeless animals in the south. We believe every pet owner should be responsible and spay & neuter their animals.

On October 1, 2026, Beau's law went into effect. If you see a dog chained, or without fresh water, food, or real shelter that provides protection from rain and cold, take a picture, record the address, and call your animal control, police dept, or Sherriff department.

When you call, ask for the "Incident number" so you can follow up.

Sometimes you can talk to the owner of the chained dogs in the spirit of friendship, and you can help the dog by helping your neighbor set them up properly. Sometimes folks need help and some people won't know about Beaus law for a while.

This law gives the Police and animal control authority to remove the animal, and write a citation, if evidence shows neglect or suffering. This law does bring change to the care of animals in this state!

If you love your outside dog, you must take proper care of it. If you want to learn how to crate train your dog so you can bring your dog inside when you are home, in bad weather, and every night, email and we will send you a crate training sheet. You'll need a crate. Dogs don't want to live in isolation outside away from their family. A human family is the dogs pack in his eyes.

Rehoming! New England! Please share Willie with friends, family, and neighbors. Willie is an Alabama mixed breed adopted 5 years ago as a puppy. His Mom has moved to a retirement community. Willie is in an apartment while his caregiver is working long hours. He needs his person, someone with time for him, someone that wants a companion.

Willie weighs 52 pounds. He is obedient and listens well. He has had some professional training. He's good with dogs, good with kids, he's very sweet, but he can be standoffish with men. No exposure to cats. He loves a spiky ball!

Willie is current on his shots, he's neutered and microchipped, and he receives monthly parasite prevention.

He's a nice dog that deserves his forever home. You can FaceTime with Willie and learn if he's good fit for you. Picture of his mom included. Dad unknown.
