From such a young age, the children at Rwanda Children learn the power of prayer and the presence of God.

Ten seconds before an English test, the whole classroom stopped.

The teacher asked his RCCS Primary 5 students to pray together before a test.

Among them was 11-year-old Eustache, who dreams of becoming a neurologist.

“I asked God to help me remember what I have learned and do my best,” he said.

Then they started the test.

A test is still a test. But for ten quiet seconds, it was something else too.

Sewing with a purpose at Rwanda Children.

Someone has to make 1,038 school uniforms.

Alice Mujawiyera, our sewing training teacher, worked alongside Dative Mukagasana and other members of our sewing cooperative to sew uniforms for the 1,038 students enrolled at Rwanda Children Christian School this year.

Alice put it simply: “We sew with purpose, knowing every uniform represents a child's opportunity to learn.”

A lot of work goes into a new school year.

Today, we’re celebrating daughters everywhere—their joy, their strength, their dreams, and the futures they are building.

International days are an opportunity to bring people together, raise awareness, and shine a light on issues that matter. At ODI, that means celebrating not only the daughters in our own families, but also the daughters in Nepal who are building new futures through safety, education, skills training, and opportunity.

Today, we’re asking you to celebrate your daughter with us.
