🚨Informative Post🚨

After speaking to the counsel last night we got some great information!

The Village of Caledonia follows the same rules as Marion city. Which means ANY food truck can set up in the village for FREE and WITHOUT a village permit. All that’s required is they park legally in a parking spot.

A huge Thanks to Chris Tracey!! He’s working on widening the spots in the square so this will help with the parking availability for the food trucks. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Great news everyone!!!🎄Christmas in the Village🎄is on the books!!! Last night at the counsel meeting we purposed the event and got the approval!!! It’s going to be a lot of work but we’re willing to take it on.

Thank you all for your support and we look forward to working hard to make our Christmas in the Village memorable. ☺️🎄☺️

🚨🚨Long post alert 🚨🚨

Hello everyone. My name is Darcy Hunley and I am the organizer of Caledonia Community Circle. It appears that there has been some misleading information being thrown around so I thought maybe I could clear up some things on my end.

The biggest thing is we ARE having festivals for the community. They will be held free of charge in the community and we will use as many of our local businesses that are willing to help to make it happen.

We’ve hosted two previous events. One for Mother’s Day and one for Easter. Each event was paid for by local residents and businesses and then organized by us. How that happens? At our meetings we decide what we’d like to have at the event and then from there it’s just seems to happen. This family wants to donate their time, that person wants to donate supplies, this person makes calls, this person prints flyers and then from there we just keep the ball rolling. We’re currently organizing a fall festival for October 24th from 10am-1pm. And even more excited Christmas in the Village for December.

We’ve only just started this journey but we’re in for as long as we can keep making things happen. Hopefully with the help from the village we can ALL be part of something positive. Life is hard and and all we want to do is bring back a little of that old school feeling we’re all missing. Where street carnivals were a fun Saturday afternoon and it was about community and support. It sounds corny and cliché but it’s the truth.

The rumors of Caledonia Community Circle being ran by business owners is true. I own and operate Thistle & Brush Village Salon and my husband Gary owns and operates Big G’s Dugout Pizza. It’s been an absolute blessing to get to have this opportunity. And because of that we wanted to give back to the community we work and live in. So that’s a huge part of why we started the group. And because of having the businesses we’ve built a relationship with the other’s near us. It was a no brainer to facilitate everything so we were all working together. Our goal is to work with ALL of our area businesses and farmers.

As for food trucks that’s not what we had on our agenda and hopefully we still see them out here but luckily there is a wonderful pizza shop in the village that serves great char burgers on Mondays so that’s always an option.

In the end I hope this helps clears up some confusion and answers a few questions. Thank you for taking the time read this and we hope to see you at our event on the 24th.

Hey everyone!! We’ve received a few messages about our fall festival being canceled. We’re very sorry for the confusion! However, our fall farm festival is still ON!!!

I know there’s multiple pages for our community and another group that hosts events so I wanted to make sure we cleared it up that we will still be hosting free small events.

You can catch the next one on October 24th from 10am-1pm. We’ll have lots of fun stuff for the kiddos and families to do.

What’s super amazing about the whole thing is it’s ALL volunteers and most of our local businesses coming together and making it happen. As long as we can keep up this kind of support we’ll keep bringing these free family friendly events to the village!
