Please be careful if you're on the water today, especially this afternoon and this evening. Weather forecast for today could see severe thunderstorms with high winds. Be mindful of large trees that can come down in or around campsites on the water.
Heat will return through the day on Tuesday, with some areas in the Central Highlands and Bangor area seeing temperatures lift into the lower 90s, with increased humidity as well. These conditions will act to fuel thunderstorms, with storms becoming severe through the late afternoon and evening hours. The greatest threat from these storms will be for damaging winds, and there may also be large hail that could reach at least golf ball size. Isolated tornadoes are also possible. Some storms may produce severe threats after sunset: Ensure you stay weather aware and have a way to receive critical warning information overnight!
There could be some showers and storms late Tuesday morning into early Tuesday afternoon, and the timing of these showers could have impacts on the severity and timing of the stronger storms into the evening hours.
