From Mountains Restoration Trust and TreePeople, we wish you the best Holiday Season and Winter Solstice. As we experience the shortest daylight hours of the year and fully dive into the winter season, we hope all humans and critters alike enjoy the blessings of our natural systems.

Please take a hike in our unique Cold Creek Preserve, a pristine gem amidst our highly biodiverse Santa Monica Mountains, and consider donating to protect and steward the Preserve and our other precious open spaces.

Wow!

Over 600 folks and 3,000 native plantings on Saturday at Paramount Ranch.

Together, we established diverse healthy communities for people and planet.

Reopen Cold Creek Canyon?

Our Cold Creek Canyon Preserve has been closed to the public since 2011. We are exploring options to reopen this resource for mindful trail users with improved trails and eco-safe stream crossings. We would love to hear your enthusiasm, suggestions, concerns and wisdom as we evaluate the public access and biological integrity of this special locale.

FALL In Love with Kitz Creek
Our latest restoration site at Headwaters Corner in Calabasas is fondly named Kitz Creek. Aptly named after long-time program manager and co-director of MRT, Jo Kitz, who passed away in 2018. This restoration project will remove one of Jo’s Santa Monica Mountains invasive nemesis, black mustard, and re-establish a healthy riparian habitat in one of the Los Angeles River Systems’ tributaries.

Donate $50+ and we will plant/geo-tag a beautiful Santa Monica Mountain native on your behalf at our new Kitz Creek restoration site this Fall and Winter.
