The storm that devastated several cities in north central West Virginia did a HUGE amount of damage to the North Bend Rail Trail. However, we have a wonderful, hard-working trail crew and volunteer. The Trail Superintendent, his crew of 3 (to maintain this 72-mile rail-trail), and our Superhero Volunteer using chain saws AND heavy equipment (yes, it WAS that bad) have the North Bend Rail Trail officially open again as of July 30, 2026. Come enjoy the North Bend Rail Trail!

During the "Thank You, Donors" Picnic in Cairo on October 11, 2025, North Bend Rails to Trails Foundation Vice-Chair Ken Adams and Director John Pellegrin observed the picnic table at the Trail by the Bank was in worse than "sad" condition. So they tore away the old boards that day, exposing the base it was built on.

On November 5, 2025, the two men, rebuilt the picnic table on November 5, 2025.
