The North Bend Rails to Trails Foundation Inc. held their first Thank You Donors Picnic at the Town Square in Cairo, West Virginia - the site of the Dedication of the North Bend Rail Trail when it began. This was possible thanks to the cooperation of the Town of Cairo and the Directors from the 4 Counties comprising the Board of the Foundation. The dedication and help given yesterday by Mayor Nikki Collins is immeasurable.
The Town of Cairo presented the NBRTF with a beautiful cake. The Foundation thanks all our helpers (hotdog grillers, set-up and take-down) who made this a wonderful day of thanks to our Donors who have helped us keep the North Bend Rail-Trail maintained as their donations provide the matching funds for grants and materials to re-deck and repair bridges and help the Trail Superintendent and his crew maintain the Trail.
Hotdogs were grilled, baked beans, potato salad, chips, water, pies, and brownies were served to trail users and donors as a Thank You for your support through the years. It was so nice to be able to thank so many of our donors (and trail users who spread the word about the Trail) in person.
