Today our program with given by Giulia Pescini and Hanna Scheimann, exchange students from Italy and Germany. Giulia and Hanna both are currently staying with each of their own host family's (The Grubbs Family & The Harrison Family) and attend Cairo High. They are both excited to experience the different cultures here vs what they have back home. Welcome to the South Giulia & Hanna!

Today, the Cairo Kiwanis Club was pleased to welcome Grady County’s School Safety Director, Craig Singletary, as our guest speaker. Chief Singletary shared valuable insight into the important role School Resource Officers (SROs) play in our schools. He discussed the specialized training these officers receive and the many ways they work to support, protect, and build positive relationships with our students.
We appreciate Chief Singletary taking the time to speak with us and for his continued dedication to keeping our schools and community safe!

We want to say Thank you to Tyler Lee, and Dia Cooper from CPT - Cairo Physical Therapy for our program last Thursday. Dia reminded us all that just a little bit of exercise each day can help your body. She even had the members exercising without them even knowing it. Thank you both for joining us!

Fun Fact: 💪🏼 You only need 30 mins a day or 150 minutes a week to help strengthen your body!

🎉 WE HAVE A WINNER! ♠️

What an exciting day for our Kiwanis Club! After weeks of drawings, we were down to ONE CARD LEFT yesterday — the Ace of Spades! ♠️

And whose lucky ticket was drawn? Wayne Hadden! 🎟️👏

Congratulations to Wayne, who took home $908! 💰

What a great fundraiser and an incredible team effort by our Kiwanis Club! Together, we raised over $1,800, with half going to our lucky winner and the other half supporting our club and the work we do in our community.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported us each week. This was a first for our club and such a fun way to raise funds!

A heartfelt thank you to the Cairo Kiwanis Club for its generous $5,000 donation toward the Zebulon Theatre roof repair project!

Kiwanis Club President Ryan Prince proudly presented the check to Zebulon Theatre Executive Director Robert D***s, while Kiwanis Secretary Charlie Butler looked on.

Your investment in preserving our historic Zebulon Theatre means so much to our community. Thank you, Kiwanis, for your continued commitment to making Cairo and Grady County a better place. We are truly grateful for your support!

Cairo Kiwanis Club welcomed Amanda Rabon, Executive Director of Cairo Main Street, as the guest speaker at today's meeting.

Amanda provided members with an update on the many exciting activities planned for downtown Cairo during the upcoming Independence Day holiday. Events include the free showing of National Treasure at the Zebulon Theater on July 2 put on my United National Bank, the annual fireworks display at West Thomas Stadium on July 3, and the July 4 celebration featuring a golf cart and side-by-side parade, children’s bike parade, live entertainment, food, and family activities downtown.

She also shared updates on Main Street Markets, downtown beautification efforts, new seasonal banners, improvements to the City Hall lawn gathering space, and future plans for pocket parks and greenway enhancements designed to make downtown Cairo an even more welcoming destination.

Kiwanis members appreciated Amanda’s informative presentation and her continued dedication to strengthening and promoting the Cairo community.

Amanda was introduced by Kiwanis Board member and Downtown Development Authority Board Member Linda Drew Johnson.

🇨🇦🏔️ Exploring the Beauty of Canada! 🫎

The Cairo Kiwanis Club enjoyed a wonderful program today as Chris Addleton shared stories and photos from his family’s incredible trip to Banff and Calgary, Canada.

Traveling with his family, Chris visited some of the most breathtaking destinations in the Canadian Rockies, including Banff, the Banff Gondola, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Bow Falls, Johnston Canyon, the Athabasca Glacier, and Sunwapta Falls. The scenery was nothing short of spectacular!

After hoping to see a moose throughout the trip, Chris finally got his wish on the last day before flying home when he spotted one at the Bass Pro Shop—the perfect ending to an unforgettable Canadian adventure.
