Operation Valor Horizon is looking for a group of veterans and supporters to join us on October 10th as we support the VFW Auxiliary Post 125 for their Mission Stop 22 A Day Walk.

-VFW Post 125
Boynton Ave, Plattsburgh, NY
-We’ll arrive at 9:45 AM
-Walk: 10:00 AM–10:22 AM

The walk is 22 minutes long in honor of the 22 veterans we remember each day.

If you’d like to join OVH in supporting this important event, OVH will cover your registration fee!

We are especially proud to support the VFW Post 125 Auxiliary, who have been incredible supporters of OVH. They have graciously provided us with hot, delicious food and a place to rest on Veterans Day when we take on our 22-mile walk.

We’re grateful for their continued support, and we’d love to show up and support them in return. ❤️

Registration is officially CLOSED for our Wild & Free: A Day at The Wild Center event this weekend! We can’t wait to spend the day exploring, connecting, and enjoying some time together with our veterans and their families.

🚨IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS:

Arrival & Parking:
Vehicles may begin lining up at the entrance as early as 9:15 AM, so don’t be surprised if there is a line when you arrive.

When you arrive at the entrance, please let the Wild Center staff know that you are with Operation Valor Horizon (OVH). Once inside, please park in the “Meadow” Parking Area (circled on the map below).

CHECK-IN:
Look for the Operation Valor Horizon tent, where we’ll get you checked in.

Veterans: Please be sure the veteran is present and has valid proof of veteran status. This is required unless your veteran status has already been verified through OVH.

After everyone checks in, we’d love to grab a quick group photo, and then you’re free to ADVENTURE!

Stay for as little or as long as you’d like and enjoy everything the Wild Center has to offer!

LUNCH:
OVH will be providing lunch from Jersey Mike's Subs!

The Wild Center also has a café area where additional food and refreshments can be purchased throughout the day.

🇺🇸 LET’S SHOW OUR DEPLOYED SERVICE MEMBERS SOME LOVE!

Operation Valor Horizon is once again collecting donations to support our brave men and women deployed in the U.S. Army. This time, we are excited to partner with Arrow Bank to help make this donation drive a success!

We want to send a little piece of home to our deployed service members and remind them that they are loved, appreciated, and never forgotten.

Items We Are Collecting:

-Beef jerky
-Toiletries (men’s and women’s)
-Chips/snacks
-Small bags of candy
-Peanut butter
-Pretzels
-Mini LEGO kits
-Ramen

-WHERE TO DROP OFF DONATIONS:

Donations can be dropped off at any Arrow Bank location in Plattsburgh until October 1st:

Every donation helps us put together care packages filled with snacks, essentials, and a little reminder of home for those serving overseas.

🎉 ONE YEAR OF OPERATION VALOR HORIZON! 🎉

It’s hard to believe that one year ago, Operation Valor Horizon began with a mission: to serve our veterans, their families, and to help create the community, connection, and camaraderie they deserve.

In just one year, we have accomplished so much together.

🇺🇸 27 events hosted
🇺🇸 Approximately 300 veterans served
🇺🇸 170 family members included in our mission
🇺🇸 Over 300 pounds of hygiene and food items sent to deployed men and women

Throughout the year, we have hosted movie nights, family days, fishing opportunities, stuffed animal giveaways, and so much more. We have also helped connect veterans with resources for home repairs, food insecurity, VA benefits, and mental health services.

But perhaps the most meaningful thing we’ve accomplished can’t be measured by numbers.

We helped build a community.

A place where veterans and their families can connect, find support, build friendships, and experience the camaraderie that is so important after service.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our community businesses, organizations, volunteers, donors, and everyone who has believed in this mission. Your partnerships, generosity, and encouragement have helped turn an idea into something truly meaningful.

As we celebrate our first anniversary, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who has been part of this journey.

And we’re just getting started. 💙

We can’t wait to see what Year Two brings as we continue serving North Country veterans and their families, strengthening connections, and building the community of support and camaraderie they deserve.

Thank you for believing in Operation Valor Horizon. Thank you for standing beside our veterans. Here’s to another year of service, connection, and making a difference.
