On February 14, our chapter gathered for our monthly meeting, and we were honored to welcome an inspirational guest speaker — Mr. Donnie Pogue, proud member of the Kentucky Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Mr. Pogue shared the remarkable journey of documenting his family’s legacy, including the process behind writing two books that preserve his ancestral history. He spoke about his patriot ancestors, his own military service, and his time supporting Fort Campbell as a civilian — a powerful reminder of how service and heritage often walk hand‑in‑hand.
We also learned about the genealogy resources available at the John L. Street Library, including tools and collections that can help anyone researching their lineage or working to verify a patriot ancestor. It was an inspiring and educational session that left us all motivated to continue preserving our own family stories.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thank‑you to Mr. Pogue for sharing his passion, knowledge, and dedication to honoring our nation’s history.
