proJect 8 Jarrett's proJect 8 is a nonprofit organization started by his mother, Emily, after losing her son. On June 19, 2021, our lives were forever changed.

Jarrett Allen, our beloved son, was involved in a tragic drowning accident. He gained his wings and went to his eternal, heavenly home on June 20, 2021 at the age of 7. To say this has been the most difficult thing we have faced is an understatement. Each day brings different emotions, but we allow ourselves to ride out whatever wave is handed to us that day. Our prayer, as Jarrett’s parents, is t

hat the Lord will help us find joy in the midst of the pain. Jarrett (J-man) had such a tender, loving heart, but especially for the needy. One day he gave me 8 dollars to hold onto and give to someone in need, but unfortunately, that day never happened for our sweet boy. One day while going to lunch with my dear friend, Ashley, I could feel the nudge from the Lord saying “give this gentleman Jarrett’s 8 dollars”, so I obeyed. It has been on my heart to carry items in my car to give to the needy. Blessing bags came to my mind and I thought, “what better way to be the hands and feet of Jesus and honor our son.” The light shined and our prayer had been answered…this is one way we can find JOY in the midst of the pain. Our mission is that proJect 8 will help those who are in desperate need of a blessing and better yet to draw near or become a follower of Jesus Christ. Ashley Ruffin, Stacy Reynolds, and I would be so appreciative of any donations that would help serve our community and the Lord. May God bless you!

Happy Father’s Day from the ProJect 8 family!

Today, we honor and celebrate all fathers and father figures whose love, guidance, and strength help shape families and communities.

We recognize the dads who are actively raising and supporting their children each day. We celebrate the expectant fathers eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new life and embracing the journey ahead.

We also hold close those for whom this day carries a deeper weight:

♥️ Fathers who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a son or daughter.

♥️ Sons and daughters who are celebrating today with cherished memories of fathers who are no longer here.

♥️ Families carrying both gratitude and grief as they reflect on the love that continues to live on.

ProJect 8 was founded to honor the legacy of Jarrett Reid Allen—who was taken from us too soon 5 years ago, a month shy of his 8th birthday!

To know Jarrett was to know a fearless, adventurous, kind-hearted boy, who loved his family, playing soccer, and had a special place in his heart to help the needy. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 5 years that you were tragically taken from us. We’re reminded daily that you’re watching over all of us from above, adoring your new baby brother from above, and beyond proud of your parents and sister for continuing to keep the legacy of your spirit alive! It brings the entire proJect8 family such joy continuing to live out your legacy!

We would also like to wish a very special Father’s Day to Russ Allen—through all the ups and downs of this journey, you’ve shown to be a wonderful example of what it means to be a man of God, rock and leader of the Allen family!! Jarrett, Gemma, and new baby Judd are privileged to call you dad!
