2372 miles. 7 days. 6 states. 8 stops. And just like that… roadtrip COMPLETE! 🚗✨

Somewhere between Pittsburgh and Oxford, we made a fun (and very fitting) detour to the Pro Football Hall of Fame—because why not add a little greatness to the journey? 🏈

We then spent a special evening in Oxford, OH with Bill and Monna Even, and their son, Joe—complete with a private tour of Miami University, an amazing Italian dinner, and lots of fun reliving high school memories and catching up on our families. So good for the soul!

Our final Healing Chapters Foundation stop: McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati - 2nd largest in the world. 💛
In total, we delivered over 1,600 children’s books (infant through pr***en) to kids and families along the way.

We are tired. Like, road weary tired. The car needs an oil change… and I need a massage 😄
But wow—what a journey. Full hearts, grateful spirits, and a whole lot of stories shared.

Healing Chapters Foundation Roadtrip — Day 4📍

Three states today - traveled to Akron, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, and Morgantown, West Virginia. Today was more than miles, it was meaning.

Every stop reminded us why we started this journey. The smiles, the conversations, the gratitude — it all hit different today.

Hearing how these books will be used — in community spaces, and quiet moments of reflection — that’s the real fuel behind every mile.

This roadtrip isn’t just about where we go… it’s about who we reach. ❤️

Two days. Four stops. A car full of books and just enough trunk space left for us. 🚗📚

The Healing Chapters Road Trip is rolling — delivering stories, comfort, and a little joy across the Midwest. We’re hitting pause to enjoy Cleveland for a day before the next leg (and maybe catch our breath 😉).

We also snuck in some great family time along the way — a quick visit with Mark’s sister, Mary, in Waterloo, and a big thank you to Joyce’s nephew and family, Ben and Maribeth Streff, for letting us flop at their home in Carmel, IN. Highly recommend relatives with guest rooms!
