Summer time is full on upon us and it is hot with brief moments of hope for rain that continues to elude full reality.

With the heat comes an increased need for fresh water for ALL animals. It doesn't matter if it is your horse, cow, pig, sheep, dog, cat, chickens, whatever the creature, water that is clean and drinkable is very important.

If you are going to leave for a few days you can NOT just leave a bowl of water out and assume that it is going to be enough. The heat creates greater evaporation, the animals drink more, many of them will play in the water and defile the water because of it. You need to make sure that you or someone you trust is checking on the water two to three times daily! In this heat it does not take long for your animal to heat stroke and die!

Please, put your animals needs above your own during these times of high heat. They have no cell phones to tell you that they don't have water and dying of heat stroke is a very miserable way to die. Help them survive this summer by ensuring that they always have fresh clean water.

Wellness/Spay & Neuter clinic for the month of July 2026.
Wellness will be first come first serve.
Spay & Neuter will be appointments only. You can schedule with the QR code on the flyer of on the AHS website www.azhumane.org/mobile-clinic after scheduling please look out for the email to fill out the form with your pet's information. Doing so will confirm your appointment.
The clinic will be held at the Animal Control clinic building on San Carlos Ave. next the San Carlos post office.
Please remember to bring water for your pets and ensure they have access to shade.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and kindness with Geronimo Animal Rescue Team, you will be greatly missed our dear friend and mentor. Rest in Peace Richard Brazell, our prayers are with your wife Cheryl and family. It’s not goodbye, it’s until we see you again. Thank you for everything.
