Amos was rescued from our Rez, thank you to everyone who helped him, loved him and gave him a beautiful life. He left this world knowing what it felt like to be loved, that’s the best gift ever for a rescue.

There are days like today, I hate rescue

Our team, our fosters and Dr Cinda are all devastated.

NAASR will need time to recover. I can’t say when we will be available, but not today.

Summer time is full on upon us and it is hot with brief moments of hope for rain that continues to elude full reality.

With the heat comes an increased need for fresh water for ALL animals. It doesn't matter if it is your horse, cow, pig, sheep, dog, cat, chickens, whatever the creature, water that is clean and drinkable is very important.

If you are going to leave for a few days you can NOT just leave a bowl of water out and assume that it is going to be enough. The heat creates greater evaporation, the animals drink more, many of them will play in the water and defile the water because of it. You need to make sure that you or someone you trust is checking on the water two to three times daily! In this heat it does not take long for your animal to heat stroke and die!

Please, put your animals needs above your own during these times of high heat. They have no cell phones to tell you that they don't have water and dying of heat stroke is a very miserable way to die. Help them survive this summer by ensuring that they always have fresh clean water.
