Today is the last day to register for the 3rd Governor's Summit on Montana Food & Agriculture: bit.ly/3RwYTMg
Click through to read our summary of the statewide input: “What We Heard Across Montana - 18 months of listening point to a clear opportunity”.
Montana has many of the pieces needed to get more Montana food onto Montana plates. Now we need to connect them.
At this first-in-a-decade Summit, we’ll put that into practice. Using beef products, grains and produce as product models, participants will work across direct-to-consumer, retail/restaurant, and institutional markets to identify where in-state product pathways break down and what it will take to make them work.
Day One: In dynamic breakouts and plenaries, food and ag leaders from around the state will dig into challenges, key opportunities for market growth, and existing resources to support the work. The goal is that by the end of the day, we understand the existing assets and issues in market channels and are ready to dive into action planning on Day 2.
Day Two: Together, we’ll turn 18 months of statewide input into a set of action plans with regionally effective strategies and statewide impacts—each with leaders, partners and milestones—that align and coordinate existing assets, fill strategic gaps, and move Montana's food economy from 3% Montana-grown food today toward 33% by 2033.
