🚒🏠 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK | DAY 4 🏠🚒

Can we find you—and can we get to you?

For those living in rural areas, fire prevention and preparedness don't stop at the front door.

Rocker VFD responds to a large rural area, and getting an engine or water tender to your home isn't always as simple as pulling up to the curb.

You can help us before an emergency ever happens:

🚒 Make sure your address is clearly visible from the road—day AND night.

🚒 Keep trees and brush trimmed back from your driveway.

🚒 Remember that our apparatus are much taller, wider, and heavier than your pickup.

🚒 Keep gates accessible and make sure emergency vehicles have a way to turn around.

🚒 During the winter, keep driveways plowed and accessible.

🚒 Don't park vehicles where they could block emergency apparatus.

When there's an emergency, every minute matters. A little preparation today can help make sure we're able to reach you when you need us most.

Help us help you.

🚨 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK | DAY 3 🚨

When was the last time you checked your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms?

Smoke alarms provide an early warning when a fire starts, giving you and your family valuable time to get outside.

Take a few minutes today to:

🔥 Test every smoke alarm in your home.

🔥 Make sure everyone in the house recognizes what the alarm sounds like.

🔥 Check that alarms aren't blocked, covered, or missing.

🔥 Make sure you have working carbon monoxide alarms, especially as we head into heating season.

And don't forget about the places you may not think about every day—garages, shops, cabins, and other occupied buildings should be evaluated for appropriate fire and CO protection too.

A working alarm is a small piece of equipment that can make a life-saving difference.

Test yours today!

⚡🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK | DAY 2 🔥⚡

“Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.”

For Day 2 of Fire Prevention Week, we're highlighting this year's theme and an increasingly common fire hazard—lithium-ion batteries.

We use rechargeable batteries every day in our phones, laptops, power tools, toys, e-bikes, and countless other devices. Most of the time we don't give them a second thought, but damaged batteries or improper charging can create a serious fire hazard.

🎥 Check out the video below to learn more about lithium-ion battery safety and how you can practice safer charging habits at home.

A few things to remember:

🔋 Use the correct charger for your device.
⚡ Charge devices on a hard, flat surface where heat can escape.
🔥 Stop using batteries that are swollen, damaged, unusually hot, leaking, or giving off an unusual odor.
🔌 When in doubt, unplug it and don't continue charging it.

A few simple habits can help prevent a fire before it starts.

Charge smart. Charge safe. 🔋⚡

Lithium battery fires are becoming more common every day as more an...
