It was a busy day yesterday for Rocker Volunteer Fire Department, with our members staying on the move from start to finish.
It began with crews responding to the Charcoal Fire. While en route, we were briefly re-routed to investigate a reported fire alongside the highway. After confirming there was no immediate threat, we continued to the Charcoal Fire, where we assisted until the incident was transitioned to the U.S. Forest Service.
While returning to the station, members responded to a call for a grass fire on Blue Bird Trail. Thanks to a quick response, the fire was contained before it could spread further.
Even with a busy response schedule, our members remained committed to training by attending an interior fire training in the evening, continuing to build the skills needed to serve our community safely and effectively.
The day concluded with a call from a concerned vehicle owner reporting a strong acidic smell coming from their car battery. A tow truck was called for the owner and there was no threat found.
From wildland incidents and grass fires to training and public service calls, our volunteers are always ready to answer when needed.
