Intermountain Health St. James Hospital is excited to welcome Kimberly Franke, MD, to the orthopedics team serving communities across the southwest Montana.
Dr. Franke is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced training in shoulder and elbow care. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson and went on to complete a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa.
Originally from Montana, Dr. Franke grew up in Billings and later moved to Bozeman, and she’s excited to continue caring for patients in her home state.
Dr. Franke specializes in a wide range of orthopedic care, including:
• Shoulder and elbow conditions such as rotator cuff injuries, instability, and tendon or ligament reconstruction
• Joint replacements, including shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee
• Fracture care and common hand conditions like carpal tunnel and trigger finger
She is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
For Dr. Franke, the most meaningful part of her work is helping patients return to the activities they love.
“The most rewarding part of orthopedic surgery is helping people get back to the activities they enjoy. As someone who enjoys adventuring in the outdoors, I’m committed to providing personalized care that helps patients move with confidence and return to the activities they enjoy.”
Outside of work, Dr. Franke enjoys mountain biking, fly fishing, ice climbing, and mountaineering interests that help her connect with many of the active patients she treats.
