National Affordable Housing Network

National Affordable Housing Network Building Affordable Housing Through Sustainable Technology We believe:

Children need decent homes that don't cause shame.

In all of our projects and products, we strive to represent the consumer in low-cost housing design by providing technical assistance, designing detailed houseplans, and other educational materials to ensure that resource efficiency features are included in the design of low-income housing in the United States. New affordable, high performance homes built as in-fill in existing neighborhoods can m

eet this need. The most affordable way to provide housing is through homeownership. Homeownership can bring self-sufficiency to households in need. Consumers need protection from energy price hikes that have and will continue to occur due to electric deregulation. The nation's top consumer groups have warned that significant price shocks are likely. Dramatic improvements in housing performance are already affordable for homebuilders. Energy efficiency, indoor air quality, health and safety improvements are affordable even for new low-cost housing, but rarely practiced. The most efficient, affordable housing should be built for (and with) households in need. With the right educational tools and support, nearly anyone can build their own home. Self-help home building can develop skills, and enhance self-esteem and provide quality, high performance housing.

UPDATE****
The truck itself has been located and is back in the possession of Habitat. However all of our tools have been removed from the truck and appear to be a complete loss at this moment. The truck was found in North Butte near Walkerville. We are still assessing the extent of the theft at our warehouse and damaged caused by the break in. Any information that cold assist in the return of our tools would be greatly appreciated at this time.

Habitat for Humanity of SW Montana had a break in in our shop 7/9/22 between 6pm and 7am (7/20) and had our tool truck stolen. Please be on the lookout for our 2009 F 350 Super Duty with Tool Boxes and a rack as shown in the picture. This truck is critical to our construction operation and was loaded with most of our field tools for housing construction. If you see this truck or have any information please reach out to the BSB police department or Habitat for Humanity at 406-782-8579. This truck and tools are critical to our operation and its loss is devastating to our program and any information leading to its return would be greatly appreciated. The Truck is a 2009 F 350 Super Duty with Toolboxes a, utility rack and brush guard as shown in the picture. Montana Plate CXK694

One of National Affordable Housing Network’s (NAHN) points of emphasis is to help our clients gain the tools needed to become financially literate. However, many people are not familiar with this term. Financial literacy is the ability to understand and effectively use various financial skills. So, what kinds of financial skills can NAHN teach you?

Learn about the term "financial literacy" and how NAHN can help you gain this understanding of financial tools in this short article.

NAHN has developed cost-effective Net Zero Energy (NZE) single-family homes powered by solar electric systems in Montana. A NZE building produces as much power from renewable energy as it uses on an annual basis. Heat recovery ventilation keeps the indoor air free of pollutant build-up while reclaiming 70% or more of the space heat generated by the home. These homes are comfortable, safe, and resilient.

With the federal eviction moratorium ending at the end of July, it is more important than ever that you reach out for assistance if you need it. The National Affordable Housing Network (NAHN) is available to help in many different ways, including: negotiating with lenders/landlords, assisting with the mortgage mitigation process and paperwork, and assisting renters to apply for State of Montana rental and utility assistance. All of our services are free to the public, you will never pay a cent to NAHN.

We would also like to clarify that we are not a property management company nor realty company. NAHN does not have buildings available for rent, nor can we assist with the acquisition of a rental property. Unfortunately, this kind of work is not what we do, but we are happy to help in the ways that are listed above.
