Congratulations to our Scholarship Recipients!

On Tuesday July 14th, friends, family, coworkers, and Murdoch Center Foundation Board members gathered to help celebrate our 2026 Educational Scholarship winners.

Tamia Haskins, currently employed at Royall Cottage and seeking a degree in nursing, was awarded the Almekinders Family Scholarship.

Deana Murrell, currently the Community Employment Program Supervisor serving Meadowview and Summerset Cottages, received the Murdoch Center Foundation Scholarship. She is seeking a master’s degree in psychology.

The ceremony included a meet and greet with lunch, remarks from MCF president Vicky Ravenel, presentation of certificates by Aaron Thornton, and photos by Karl King!

What a great day at the Special Olympics at Murdoch Developmental Center! Beautiful weather and new additions like pathways, seating, and shade made the event even more enjoyable for everyone.

🌭 The Hot Dog 🌭 Hut was a favorite gathering spot at lunch, bringing participants and staff together.

Congratulations to all our amazing athletes—we’re proud of your hard work! Best of luck to those advancing to the finals in Wake County, May 29–31, 2026!
