📣 SGAA PARENTS + FAMILIES — YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED!
Granville County is beginning the process of determining what the future Hawley Recreation Site could look like — and this is an opportunity for the families who actually use our recreational facilities to speak up.
If you’ve ever struggled to find enough practice time for your child’s team… wished we had more indoor practice space… needed additional fields or courts… or traveled outside Granville County because the facility or opportunity your child needed simply wasn’t available here — this meeting is for you.
Think about what our kids, teams, families and community are missing:
⚾ Are there enough fields and practice spaces to meet the demand?
🏀 Do we need more indoor gym, court or training space?
🥎 Do we need additional or better outdoor facilities?
⚽ Are there sports, programs or recreational opportunities that Granville County currently does not provide?
🌧️ What happens to practices and activities when weather eliminates the limited outdoor space we already have?
🏃 What could this site provide for children, teens, adults and families beyond organized sports?
Now is the time to talk about it — before decisions are made.
Granville County is specifically asking the community to help shape the future of this property. We strongly encourage our SGAA parents, coaches and families to attend, listen to the plans, ask questions and share your experiences and ideas.

We spend a lot of time talking among ourselves about what our teams and kids need. This is our chance to take those conversations to the people planning Granville County’s future recreational spaces.
Whether your child plays baseball, softball, basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, cheer or another sport — or you simply want more recreational opportunities for families in our community — please consider being there.
Our youth deserve facilities that meet the needs of a growing community. Let’s make sure their needs are heard. ❤️

Granville County is planning a transformation of the former G.C. Hawley Middle School site (corner of Hawley School Road and Brassfield Road in Creedmoor) and we want your input!
Come learn about the project and help shape the future of recreation in southern Granville County!
