Burn Ban in Effect

To the citizens of the Butler Volunteer Fire Department district, please know that things have turned volatile. As ranchers, many of us understand the benefits of control burns, but it's time for this.
In the last ten days or so, we've had many controls escape their boundaries.
At this time, the most important thing we can do as a community is pray for rain!
Thank you for your understanding.

Attention Foss Estate and Sky Acres area home owners. The Butler Volunteer Fire Department and other area departments have worked diligently to keep the fire contained today that is North of you and burned yesterday.

WIND SHIFT

During the night the wind will come from the North and gust up to 50 mph possible.
We need you to be vigilant and ready to take action if any is warranted.

Turn your ringer up on your phones and make sure you can receive alerts.

If you see any visible flames after the wind shift report it immediately.

This statement is made not to alarm anyone but just to make you aware and ready.

As always the Butler Fire Department appreciates your support in these times.

Before the STORM

Things to think about!!

Use electric heaters properly. Keep em clear 3’ any direction.
If for some reason you do encounter a house fire get out and stay out. We do our best, but our response times are going to be impacted greatly.

Travel will be discouraged, but if you find your self stranded absolutely stay with your vehicle. If you do leave by getting a ride with someone please leave a note that we can see, so valuable time will not be wasted looking for you.

Learn how to share your location by Apple or Google Maps. This could possibly save your life by speeding up response efforts.

One could go on and on about things.
Simply use common sense and do what’s right.

Stay safe and warm!
