I had to go to KU Hospital today and had some bags in my car so I decided to leave some bags of Narcan around a few blocks. I'm confident that they'll find the people who need them!

We were also approached today by a group from Drexel that will be having a New Years Eve event and wanted to hand out Narcan. So we're blessed to be able to provide 100 bags for them to distribute!

It's time for more volunteer opportunities. We have a need for putting together more bags. If you're interested, message me and we'll chat! Thanks!!!

We ring in the New Year next week! If anyone needs Narcan reach out. Here's a reminder of where our boxes are. If you're having or attending an event and want Narcan on hand, a few boxes or 100, reach out to me and I'll get it to you! Be safe, take care of each other, and have a great start to 2026!!

We printed the first batch of postcards! These will go to local pharmacies to assist people who may have a cost in receiving free Narcan.

If anyone has printing services, printer ink, or the Avery postcard sheets to donate, we'd love to spread these to the entire county!!

We've been quiet lately but big, exciting things have been happening!

Breathe for Bre held our first Coalition Meeting. Despite missing some members, we had a good attendance. We talked about what we are all seeing in our community as a need. One of the main challenges acknowledged by all was the general lack of education about Narcan and overdose. We will continue to provide education at our events and will explore providing more in person community trainings.

We are also working on creating postcards that will be available at the Wal-Mart pharmacy and hopefully other pharmacies in the county. These will be simple cards that will provide our Free Narcan locations. The goal with these is to provide free Narcan to the people who are prescribed it so they don't have any costs associated with it.

If anyone has any need for Narcan, the postcards, or is interested in any trainings, please reach out!!

Breathe for Bre is in the process of forming a coalition and we would like to involve youth. We're looking for youth, most likely ages 12 and up that would be interested in being a part of our journey. This would involve attending meetings, the possibility of volunteering at our events and having their voices heard about what they're experiences are with the opioid crisis in schools. We would love to have all school districts in our area covered, so maybe just a few from each school. We would like a variety of ages as well. If you have a youth in mind who would be willing to speak with us, please reach out!

Photos of our free Narcan Training for the community we hosted last night, along with the Bates County Community Resource Program and the BCMH. Training was provided by
Russ Whisenand, Paramedic and EMS Supervisor for the Bates County Memorial Hospital Ambulance Department. We had a great attendance and so many amazing questions were asked and answered.
