will hold a Children’s Musical Theater Workshop this summer with a production of “ Beauty and the Beast” starting with auditions on Monday, July 5, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center located directly behind First United Methodist Church in Butler, Alabama. Rehearsals will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 each evening , starting July 6, and continue every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday th

e entire month of July, with some possible rehearsals on Friday, if this is deemed necessary. Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, of August 5, 6, and 7th, respectively, at 7:30 p.m. each evening. There is no charge for participating in the workshop, however, parents will be responsible for each child’s costume(s). Some children may wish to be cast in two roles, as there are several scenes in which townspeople and crowds are included. That will be determined by the turnout and each child’s willingness to accept more than one role. Parents will be asked to sign a waiver of liability in order for their child to participate. More details will be forthcoming. If you have not yet joined the Arts Council to show your support for keeping the arts alive in Choctaw County, please do so by sending in your check for whatever you feel you can afford, made out to Choctaw County Arts Council, Inc., or simply, CCAC, and mailing it to 902 East Pushmataha St., Butler, Alabama, 36904. Any amount $25 or more is income-tax deductible, as we are a non-profit organization, enjoying a 501(c)3 status with the IRS. Thank you for whatever contribution you can make.

Choctaw County’s Got Talent Update!

Due to a lack of participation, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s Choctaw County’s Got Talent competition.
While we’re disappointed that we won’t be holding the talent contest this year, we’re already working on something new and improved to take the place of this annual event!

As always, our goal is to celebrate local artists and performers of ALL kinds… music, theatre, dance, visual art, creative talents, and more. We want to give people in our county a place to share what they love, showcase their talents, and celebrate the arts together.

We believe there is so much talent and creativity in Choctaw County and the surrounding area, and sometimes it doesn’t need a score, a judge, or a winner, it just needs a place to be seen and appreciated.

Stay tuned! We’re excited to begin planning and will share more details about this new event in the future.

Announcing CCAC’s 2026/27 season of shows & events!!

Our talent competition is coming up in August! Please register to be in the show now and support this fun event!

The drama clubs start meeting soon and are open to new members until August 10th!! They will both perform a Camp Broadway show (show dates are being finalized) this coming season! Seussical & Shrek Camp Broadway Edition… we can’t wait to watch these shows!

Our Adult Drama troupe will be presenting a dinner theatre this season, all proceeds will go to support the 2027 Children’s Summer Musical! We will announce those auditions dates around the holidays!
