We’ll be exploring what a comic is using the prompt “I need to talk to a fish’ as a jumping off point. We will be referencing Scott McLeod’s “Understanding Comics” and exploring Jim Shaw’s Dream Drawings. Come explore the openness and weirdness that is drawing comics! Join us for an evening of creating collaged portraits of someone new or familiar. Feel free to bring a friend to make collages of each other. 

Use a mix of construction paper, magazine cutouts, painted/textured paper, and more to make your creation. There will be instruction and guidance, led by Desiree Feliciano. All materials are provided but feel free to bring your own if you want.

Our hearts are with our fellow Butler residents amd businesses who were affected by the April 2nd fire on Main Street.

At all of our programs, the Sanctuary will be collecting nonperishable items for the Butler Food Pantry at the Butler Church of the Nazarene to aid those affected by the fire.

Businesses like The Butler News and Candy Shop, Akoya Sushi and Carnitas y Gorditas La Chuu Mexican Restaurant and others affected have left a profound mark, offering community, flavor and character to our corner of NJ. We stand with you in this moment of grief and we are commited to help the business district as it reconstructs.

We will share more information and ways to help in the incoming days.
