One ☝🏽 thing my Pastor Bobby V. Wilson has always said about me since he’s known me is: Joanie believes in folks all getting along with one another, from all backgrounds and experiences.
Because I truly believe that and I am always perplexed in the Body of Christ when we disagree on reconciliation and decide it’s “impossible” to do.
Maybe it’s “won’t” do… I don’t know everyone’s story…
But if we’re called (commanded) to reconcile, restore your brother, and work toward brotherly love, why do we reject it? How could possibly pull you back if you’re falling away, struggling, if I won’t even talk to you?
And that goes both ways as God locked us in on purpose - either you know yaw fell out, or you think yaw did and feel some type of way, in either case you’re required to go hash it out.
Now I understand feelings get hurt and people experience traumatic events, and is it that we don’t want to do the work? Decided it’s too much work? Unable to do the work? No resources/support to do the work? Because what I’m saying is, it will require work either way especially the greater the offense.
But if I’m required to do it per my profession of faith, then why not do it, but expect magic fairy dust when we all to heaven on earth?
I’m just wrestling this morning…wondering if “loving somone from a distance” is even a thing in the doctrine of faith. My heart is saying it’s not…even Paul eventually reconciled with John Mark for abandonment and went through feelings of disappointment/anger he felt as a result. I could see from the text time went by, fruit had to be produced that was good, that could be seen and witnessed. But the end result is reconciliation…
