CAWP Members: Join the CAWP CLC in collecting toys for The Salvation Army of Western PA’s Treasures for Children toy drive. The holiday season can be challenging for many families. This year, our goal is to meet or exceed last year’s incredible donation of more than 700 toys. Help the CLC reach its goal and make the holidays brighter for children in western PA!

Join us in supporting our local communities by getting involved in the following ways:
🧸 Place a collection bin/box in a common area with a copy of the collection flyer. Feel free to add YOUR corporate logo to the signage to illustrate your company’s partnership with the CLC program!
📢 Communicate the CLC Toy Drive program to employees, family, and friends through flyers, email, paycheck inserts, etc.
🚚 Deliver toys to CAWP, 800 Cranberry Woods Drive, Suite 110, Cranberry Township, PA 16066 on Thursday, December 3rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday, December 4th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

CAWP Members: We're seeking a recently completed project to serve as the case study for our Student Estimating Competition in February 2027!

This hands-on event gives university teams a real-world bid experience while introducing them to the contractors, processes, and standards that define our industry.

Ideal Project Criteria:
💫 Total value between $1–5 million
💫 PennDOT project preferred
💫 Includes a structure component (e.g., small bridge, box culvert, retaining wall, or similar)

What's in it for the Contractor:
✨ Work with CAWP's advisor to craft what project items to include in this year's competition
✨Participate in a short pre-bid meeting (context, constraints, Q&A)
✨Assist with the final awards ceremony to highlight the project
✨Visibility and goodwill with students, educators, and agency partners

Your project could inspire the next generation to choose a heavy-highway career and ensure our region has the skilled estimators and builders it needs! If you have a project to suggest, contact the Association!

❤️ On 10/8, the American Heart Association’s Pittsburgh Hard Hats with Heart celebration was held at FNB Stadium, and CAWP again participated as a jobsite wellness sponsor! The AHA’s nationwide movement aims to build a path to end heart disease and stroke and to increase wellness among those in the construction industry.

Special thanks to CLC members Italo Merante of Merante Contracting - Merante Transport - Advanced Pipe Technologies, and Grady Smith and Brad Springer of Plum Contracting, Inc., for participating in the event!
