Kamp Kaleo

Kamp Kaleo Kamp Kaleo is a space for all campers, young and old, to experience the grace and peace of God It's called Kamp Kaleo. Or, as we like to call it, "Home."

On the banks of the North Loup River, just outside of Burwell, NE, is a place of story sharing, soul bearing, friend-making, rest-taking, and general joy and merriment. No matter who you are or where you're coming from, physically or spiritually, you will find welcome and peace at Kaleo. Kamp Kaleo serves as the outdoor ministry and summer camp for both Nebraska Conference of the United Church of

Christ and the Nebraska Region of the Disciples of Christ. We have camps for all ages of people - from "Little Critters" to our Adventures in Community camps, for adults with mental disabilities. A Message from our Executive Director, Brad...

I have some exciting news to share about Kamp Kaleo.

As we prepare to welcome campers for another summer, our camper registrations are at their highest level in more than a decade. Registrations are up 34% over last year, and an incredible 87% of the campers who attended in 2025 are returning this summer.

That is worth celebrating.

These numbers represent children and youth whose lives are being shaped through friendship, adventure, personal growth, and community. They represent families who trust Kamp Kaleo with their children year after year.

The excitement doesn't stop there.

This summer, 63 volunteers will serve at camp, helping create safe, meaningful, and life-changing experiences for our campers. Earlier this spring, 25 volunteers contributed more than 400 hours of their time preparing camp for the season ahead.

Our supporters have also shown up in amazing ways. To date, donors have contributed more than $35,000 in cash and in-kind gifts, and we have received an additional $70,000 in grant funding to support the work happening at Kamp Kaleo.

Camp is alive. Camp is growing. Camp is making a difference.

But we're not done yet.

There is still time to register for camp. There is still time to volunteer. There is still time to invest in the future of Kamp Kaleo through a financial gift.

Every registration, every volunteer hour, and every donation helps ensure that young people continue to experience the wonder, belonging, and transformation that happen here.

Thank you to everyone who has made this possible. The momentum is real, and the future of Kamp Kaleo has never looked brighter.

See you at camp.

AIC Camp Spotlight

Adventures in Community (AIC) is a camp designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to experience a week filled with fun, friendship, faith, and belonging. Each camper is paired with a volunteer Companion who walks alongside them throughout the week, offering support, encouragement, and plenty of laughs along the way.

From bingo, fishing, crafts, and bowling to dances, talent shows, hayrack rides, singing, and campfire vespers, every day is packed with meaningful experiences and unforgettable memories. AIC is more than just camp, it’s a place where campers are celebrated for who they are and surrounded by a caring, Christ-centered community.

The best part is that it is FREE to attend.
