First observed in 1988, World AIDS Day is a day to unite to help end HIV and remember those lost to AIDS-related illnesses.

This World AIDS Day we rally around the theme “EQUALIZE” and encourage people to unite globally to eliminate the inequities that create barriers to HIV testing, prevention, and access to HIV care.

Ending HIV starts with you! Get tested and stay in treatment if positive.

Lessons From The Field: Linkages to HIV Care.

For over two years the Patcha Foundation and Immigrant Community Services have collaborated on the HIV Engagement (HIVE) program. The main objective has been to identify African immigrants and other minorities living with HIV and link them to medical care and other socio-economic support services.

What has it been like? What are some challenges we have faced? Have we met the objectives of the program? What is the outlook for Africans living with HIV in Maryland?

Our amazing panelist will discuss these and other aspects of HIVE.
The panelists are:

Omega Tawonezvi, Executive Director at Immigrant Community Services & HIVE Program Specialist
Paula Wood, Sr. DCOP, Grants and Operations, Finance and Operations on the Efficiencies for Clinical HIV Outcomes (ECHO).
