TODAY — SEPTEMBER 30 — is the LAST DAY to register for the 2026–27 season before late fees begin!

Registration is open for ALL of our K–6 basketball programs:

* K–2 Coed Rec
* Grades 3–6 Grass Roots Rec
* Grades 5–6 Midwest Travel Basketball

Beginning tomorrow, October 1, a $25 late fee will be added to registrations through October 5.

If basketball is on your family’s schedule this winter, get those players registered TODAY and save the $25! 💜💛🏀

As we head into basketball season, I wanted to share a quick reminder about the heart and purpose of our Rec Basketball program. Our goal is pretty simple, we want kids to continue to love the game of basketball.

Rec basketball is a place for kids to learn, develop their skills, build confidence, understand the game, be part of a team and continue to create a strong foundation. Every child develops at a different pace and every family has different goals for their player. Parents absolutely have the choice to decide where they feel their child is best suited to play. Some kids may be ready for a more competitive environment, while others may benefit most from continuing to develop through our traditional rec program. There is value in both and that is why we offer BOTH.

Our job as a rec board isn’t to rush kids through the process or make youth basketball about wins and losses. It’s to give as many kids as possible the opportunity to play, learn, compete, improve and most importantly want to come back and play again next year.

If we can help our young players develop solid fundamentals, become good teammates, gain confidence and leave the gym loving basketball a little more than when they walked in, then we’re doing exactly what a youth rec program is supposed to do. We’re building basketball players but we’re also building a program and a love for the game that we hope carries with them for years to come. That has been my mission since becoming commissioner in November 2022.

🏀 LAST WEEK TO REGISTER! 🏀

We’re officially in the final days of registration for Berkshire Rec Basketball! Registration closes September 30th for grades K–6.

5th & 6th Grade Midwest Players, the first of two mandatory preseason observation days will be this Sunday!

Here are the details:

📅 Sunday, September 27
⏰ 3:30–5:00 PM
📍Berkshire Middle School Gym

All players interested in playing 5th/6th Grade Midwest Basketball must attend at least one preseason observation.

Don’t wait until the last minute—get those registrations in!

Ladies! We have scheduled a Girls Soccer Rec Night at Berkshire Badger Athletics high school!

September 23rd. Berkshire will host Lutheran West at 7pm.

Wear your rec jersey and you get in free.

We will also have the girls on the field at half time to kick some soccer balls around.

It will be awesome so you should come!
