Rescued as an emaciated very pregnant dog with parasites, Skye is now an integral part of the farm. She guards me personally. Six of her 10 pups survived and found their forever homes.

This feather is imperfect.

Bent. Frayed. Torn in places.

But that is exactly why it is beautiful.

A perfect feather may never have known struggle. This one did. It grew from a living turkey who moved through storms, fences, dust baths, squabbles, close calls, and ordinary days of simply being alive.

The wear is not damage.
It is evidence of a life lived.

Perfect things can be admired.
But imperfect things tell stories.

And sometimes the stories are the most beautiful part. 🪶
