A loyal, reliable, and loving force of nature, Stephen Lawrence Burroughs, 59, transitioned from this life on December 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and strength. He would always tell his wife Gina, "I'll get to it tomorrow" unfortunately he left this world much too soon, never getting that chance.
He was born on March 20, 1966, in Amsterdam, NY. Stephen, fondly known as Steve to his loved ones, was a beacon of unwavering commitment to his family and friends. A graduate of Burnt Hills High School and a dedicated Generator Field Engineer, he was admired for his hard work and brilliance. His tenure at General Electric saw him excel, traveling to 5 continents throughout his 31-year career.
His knowledge extended to an array of random facts that no one else seemed to know. He was a unique blend of intellect and
compassion, always ready to lend a hand to those in need, never expecting anything in return.
Steve's love for his family was unequivocal. His wife, Gina, and his children, Mitchell, Nicholas, and Haleigh, were the center of his universe. He stepped into the role of a father figure for his son, Nicolas, raising him with the same love and commitment as his own.
His love extended beyond the human members of his family, with his dogs, Ella, Cooper and Penny, also being the apple of his eye. He was a man who believed in the duty to care for his pets, a testament to his nurturing spirit.
His love for his family was tangible in his actions, whether it was driving hours to attend his son's football game, helping family, friends or someone in need, Steve was always there when you needed him
He was a proud veteran, having served the United States Navy from 1986 to 1992. Steve also had a taste for the finer things in life, building his race car, scuba diving, loud music, Mexican food and steak.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Gina Burroughs of Schuylerville; his children, Mitchell, Nicholas and Haleigh Burroughs; his sister's, Carla (Lawrence) Hastings and Mary D’Amelia; mother-in-law, Eunice Grover; sister-in-law, Julie Vassar (Timothy) several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Carol (Nou) Burroughs and brother-in-law, Gerald D'Amelia.
Stephen Burroughs was a man of substance, whose actions spoke louder than words. His unwavering loyalty, reliability, and loving nature will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
