We are asking for the community’s help.

The Yancey County Long Term Group is in need of 3 Donated campers for local families who are still rebuilding after Hurricane Helene and need safe temporary housing.

We do not currently have funds to purchase campers, so we are seeking donated units only.

If you have a clean, livable camper to donate - or know someone who may be able to help - please contact the Yancey County Long Term Recovery Group office. (828) 222-4120

Recently, Yancey County Long Term Recovery Group Executive Director Chris Sigmon visited the Causey family home site to share the story of one family’s recovery journey after Hurricane Helene.

The Causey family’s situation reflects what long-term recovery truly means— restoring access, rebuilding stability, and helping families move forward with dignity.

Through the support of community partners, Mountain Strong, Samaritan’s Purse, and the continued work of the LTRG, recovery efforts are moving forward for Ralph and Gordon Causey.

We invite you to take a few minutes to watch Chris share this story and see how partnership, compassion, and commitment continue to make a difference for families across Yancey County.
