Bringing Hope Behind Bars: Join Freedom Life’s Jail Bag Ministry
At Freedom Life, our foundational guiding verse is Isaiah 61:1—a reminder that no one is ever left behind, forgotten, or beyond the reach of grace. Three times a year—at Easter, during the Summer, and at Christmas—we put this mission into motion through our Jail Bag Ministry.

Simple Snacks, Life-Changing Messages
We prepare and deliver care packages straight into the McDowell, Yancey, and Avery County jails. Each bag is filled with practical comforts:

Comfort foods: Ramen noodles, snacks, chips, crackers, and candy.

Tools for transformation: A Bible study and an application for Freedom Life’s supportive services.

Encouragement: Uplifting music from HeartCry, along with testimonies from former clients who were once incarcerated themselves.

These packages carry a powerful message: You are not forgotten. You are still loved, you are prayed for, and a bright future is possible through the choices you make today. Freedom Life is ready to walk alongside every individual, every step of the way.

We are gathering for our summer packing day, and we would love for you to join our community effort!

Date: August 10th

Time: 10:00 AM

Location: The Community Room

We’ll start our assembly line off with prayer, follow it up with packing and fellowship, and take a quick break before lunch to hear a live client story on how receiving a jail bag impacted their life firsthand.

Free Lunch Included: If you plan to volunteer or contribute as a donor during this event, please reserve your spot for lunch beforehand so we can get an accurate head count!

NO COST TO YOU! Friday, August 7. Take home free over-the-counter medicine items such as allergy, cough/cold, and pain relief, vitamins, children's medicine, and more! Come see us in person on event day or preorder online and pick up your medicine.
This event is open to everyone! No appointment or registration required. No income eligibility. No I.D. required. Must be 18 years or older to receive medicine.
