Burning Springs Fire Department has lost one of our members. Unit 224 JC Gilbert. Today JC has gone home to be with the lord. Our department and our community thanks him for the many years of service and sacrifices to the community. Rest easy 224 we will take it from here.

📣 IMPORTANT BURNING RESTRICTIONS

Burning Springs Fire Department is reminding residents that Fire Hazard Season takes effect February 15, 2026.

🔥 Fire Hazard Seasons (Statewide):
📅 Spring: February 15 – April 30
📅 Fall: October 1 – December 15

🚫 Burning Restrictions During These Periods:
• It is unlawful to set fire to — or cause to be set on fire — any flammable material capable of spreading fire located in or within 150 feet of woodland or brushland between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time.

• Burning is only permitted between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., or when the ground is covered with snow.

These restrictions are in place to protect lives, property, and Kentucky’s forests during peak wildfire risk seasons.

Elbert Lee Wolfe, 61, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at his residence. Born on April 14, 1964, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Alvin and Bessie (Barrett) Wolfe, he dedicated his life to serving others. With a career at Sun Pools and Spa, he also volunteered extensively at the Burning Springs Volunteer Fire Department. Known affectionately as Wolfie among peers and fellow firefighters, he demonstrated unwavering commitment to the Burning Springs community through his tireless efforts as a firefighter. His dedication will be remembered for years to come. Rest easy firefighter Wolfie.

⚠️ Public Service Announcement – Severe Weather Operations ⚠️

As we prepare for the possibility of severe weather, we want our community to know how operations at the fire station will be adjusted for everyone’s safety.

During periods of dangerous weather, the fire department will be limited to responding to emergency calls only. This includes:

• Medical emergencies
• Fires
• Vehicle accidents

Now is the time to make preparations. Please contact any resources you may need for non‑emergency matters before the weather arrives. Once conditions worsen, response options become limited and delays are unavoidable.

In the event of an emergency, call 911 immediately. Do not rely on neighbors, friends, or bystanders once the storm begins—they may become unable to help and could become emergencies themselves.

Your safety is our priority. Thank you for helping us keep our community prepared and protected.

Burning Springs Fire Department members out on this cold night participating in drivers training. Units utilized both an engine and a driver simulator. Congratulations to Shy Hubbard & Will Hensley, both units scored a 100 on the test. We would like to thank Fogertown Fire Department for inviting our firefighters.
