📣 IMPORTANT BURNING RESTRICTIONS

Burning Springs Fire Department is reminding residents that Fire Hazard Season takes effect February 15, 2026.

🔥 Fire Hazard Seasons (Statewide):
📅 Spring: February 15 – April 30
📅 Fall: October 1 – December 15

🚫 Burning Restrictions During These Periods:
• It is unlawful to set fire to — or cause to be set on fire — any flammable material capable of spreading fire located in or within 150 feet of woodland or brushland between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time.

• Burning is only permitted between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., or when the ground is covered with snow.

These restrictions are in place to protect lives, property, and Kentucky’s forests during peak wildfire risk seasons.

Elbert Lee Wolfe, 61, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at his residence. Born on April 14, 1964, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Alvin and Bessie (Barrett) Wolfe, he dedicated his life to serving others. With a career at Sun Pools and Spa, he also volunteered extensively at the Burning Springs Volunteer Fire Department. Known affectionately as Wolfie among peers and fellow firefighters, he demonstrated unwavering commitment to the Burning Springs community through his tireless efforts as a firefighter. His dedication will be remembered for years to come. Rest easy firefighter Wolfie.
