NEWS RELEASE/ “BCPD & BCFD TO SUPPORT TEAM BECKY”
November 5, 2015

On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, the Burlington County Emergency Services Community lost a valuable member of our team. Virtua Paramedic Rebecca Ann “Becky” Scott, died at the age of 28, after a courageous fight with cancer while saving other lives in the meantime. Paramedic Becky Scott would commonly respond to calls in the City of Burlington, assisting our residents in the most critical of times. Her friends, family, and co-workers have joined “Team Becky” and “Wedding Bells for Becky,” in order to raise money to begin a scholarship fund in Becky Scott’s name.

During the month of November, City of Burlington Police Officers and Firefighters can grow facial hair on a volunteer basis to show their support to “Team Becky,” along with giving a donation towards the scholarship fund.

The City of Burlington Police and Fire Departments are asking members of the community to join them in growing their facial hair to support “Team Becky!” The unshaven effort has started!

The “Final Call for Facial Hair” will meet on the front steps of City Hall, 525 High Street, on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 4:00pm. Come join other community members, first responders, the Scott Family, and other “Team Becky” members.

Fake beards will be available for a small donation and we ask any person who wants to support the cause to join us on November 29th!

Many officers in the City of Burlington Police Department worked alongside Paramedic Becky Scott, and continue to work alongside Virtua Paramedics on a daily basis. Let’s show the appreciation to our Paramedics by coming together as a community for this cause!

Please check out our page (City of Burlington Police Department) and Twitter () for updated photos of our officers during the month of November!

Contributions may be made in Paramedic Scott’s memory by bringing your donation to City Hall on November 28th or by visiting the following website:
