Students can get paid up to $600 for a commitment of 5 hours per week for approximately 8 weeks in July and August (that's $15/hr!)

They'll work with youth-serving staff at our suite in the Chace Mill Building on a new substance prevention and misuse campaign for BHS focusing primarily on alcohol, to***co/va**ng, cannabis, and overall themes of health, wellness, and inclusive belonging. There will also be opportunities to be involved with important messaging aspects for q***r and trans student communities and New American communities as part of that work. Students will help design, plan, and drive fun activities, educational campaign aspects, social media content/concepts, and other aspects of a campaign.

We are looking for students who are engaged and connected with their peers, passionate about the health and wellness of their student community, and eager to work, learn, and grow with us this summer.

Interested students should visit and apply at bphc.link/intern We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis. We hope to have students start right after the July 4th weekend.

🚨BREAKING NEWS 🚨 Congress has given the FDA authority to regulate products made with synthetic ni****ne as to***co products. President Biden just signed the bill into law 🙌. This closes a glaring loophole in federal law that e-cigarette companies have exploited to escape regulation and continue selling flavored e-cigarettes that attract and addict kids.

Today Governor Phil Scott proclaimed November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Early screening for lung cancer can reduce mortality rates by 20%. Screening can be the first step on your quit journey, which is incredibly hard for many reasons. Getting support and making a plan help. All Vermonters have access to tools and support at 802Quits. All forms of smoking (yes va**ng too) are incredibly harmful to lung health and developing lungs, so VT teens have access to great resources through My Life, My Quit - VT. Quit when and how you want. This year, lung cancer has been the leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. and in Vermont. Getting screened and detecting it earlier can save lives. Today I join other governors across the country in proclaiming November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month in an effort to promote healthy prevention measures and regular cancer screenings.

has made the difficult decision to cancel the BHS Youth Leadership Summit scheduled for this Saturday. We are all feeling the impact of the challenges and changes of this last year and a half. Youth are sharing that they have less capacity to meaningfully engage in extra-curricular and supplemental learning opportunities right now and we want to honor that. Instead, we are working on a plan to incorporate many of the opportunities for learning and discussion originally planned for this summit into our programming this year, with both our school and community partners. We appreciate your continued support and we will keep you updated on our next steps soon. Stay tuned!

For this we wanted to give a shout out to the Above the Influence Burlington members who helped write, produce, and edit the video calling out Big To***co's targeting of BIPOC communities. It's been almost 2 years since this was published and we STILL often hear people in our work bring up how much they appreciate it!
