HELP SAVE A BEAR
Hi Folks,

The Vermont Warden Service is asking for your help. We, and a couple others with your Fish & Wildlife Department’s Black Bear Project, are working to get the word out that there is a mother bear with three cubs that has been entering your neighborhood in search of birdseed and garbage. So far, she isn’t causing much damage or much of a threat to human safety. If she continues to obtain these foods, then her behavior will get worse and she will inevitably come to an untimely end and the cubs will be orphaned.

The bear will stop coming into town if she is unable to get easy food from backyards. We are seeking your help in saving the life of this bear by removing birdfeeders and better securing your garbage. We have provided additional information for you to read up on bears and how to live with them.
If you are visited by this bear or have had some property damaged by it, we would like you to fill out a report at www.vtfishandwildlife.com so that we can monitor and evaluate the situation. If you feel threatened by the bear, you can phone 802-878-7111.

Together we can save the life of this bear.

Thank you,

Warden Ethan Coffey
