Volunteers-run, Black and brown-led, direct action, mutual aid food rescue crew serving the greater Burlington Area. People's Kitchen guerilla cooks and kitchen ninjas collect donations from local farms, co-ops, and community supporters to be prepared, cooked and served free to to everyone at rallies, protests, concerts, and community events supporting the movements for social, environmental and economic justice.

FREE BBQ DINNER @ OAKLEDGE THURSDAY - The Neighborhood Planning Assembly is one of the ways Burlingtonians get involved in local government, through direct democracy and grassroots decision-making. Itself based in the South End, The People’s Kitchen has been supporting these monthly gathering serving delicious home-cooked meals to all who show up. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to join us at Oak Ledge Park this Thursday for this month’s NPA! Learn about what’s going on in our community while enjoying the beautiful view and sharing a delicious meal with neighbors!

BBQ featuring chicken/shroom satays, grilled tempe, veggie fried rice, sesame noodles, stuffed tofu, egg rolls / fried dumplings, peanut sauce and fresh greens from The People’s Farmstand . Halal, gluten-free, and lovingly prepared by our crew of volunteers.

HOMELESSNESS IS A CRIME. Being homeless is not a crime, but homelessness is a crime, perpetrated on the working people by the wealthy via government policies. Its purpose is to keep the employed in line under the implicit threat of losing housing - a fundamental human necessity. Its symptoms, addiction, hunger, and misery pits working people against each other. Don’t fall into the trap. Demand more from those in power.

Put people over profits. Let us participate, not just spectate or commentate, in making decisions that impact our lives. This coming Primary on Aug 11, please consider volunteering to collect signatures for Proposition Zero . Let’s reclaim our power and fight back.

Eid al-Adha Mubarak! Join our community feast as we celebrate this blessed day in the spirit of sacrifice, gratitude, unity and joy. Wednesday, 5/27 at 94 West Canal St. in Winooski. Bring your loved ones for a day filled with blessings, share a delicious, international feast, and enjoy activities for all age groups.

This is our first Eid al-Adha event collaboration, please help us make it a success! Send us a DM to help with cooking, serving and transporation. Cash donation via venmo/paypal/credit card to helps us cover the cost of ingredients. Help in spreading the word also appreciated!
