Today, our co-founder Margarita got her hands dirty learning exactly how to compost.

She spent the day with Cat Buxton, a local composting expert, breaking down what actually happens to our food scraps once we’re done with them. From turning piles to understanding the science of decomposition, Margarita got the full crash course.

This is part of an ongoing series where Margarita spends a day with a different local organization learning the ropes, meeting the people behind the work, and showing just how much good is happening right in our own communities.
