Last fall, the Greater Burlington Leadership Class of2025 – 2026 began its nine-month leadership development journey. The program is designed to strengthen leadership skills while providing participants with a broader understanding of civic leadership responsibilities and opportunities within the Greater Burlington area. As part of the program, each class works collaboratively to develop and execute a group project that has a positive impact on the community.

This year’s class chose to focus its efforts on supporting local veterans through “Salute Our Vets” Trivia Night, a fundraiser benefiting the Mississippi Valley Veterans Memorial. Throughout the year, class members worked together on event planning, sponsorship outreach, fundraising, marketing, and community engagement to bring the project to life.

The event successfully brought community members together for an evening of entertainment and purpose while raising funds to assist veterans and their families
with placing names on the memorial wall, along with supporting additional projects and ongoing needs at the memorial. The Greater Burlington Leadership Class of 2025 – 2026 is proud to have completed a project that honors local veterans while demonstrating the power of collaboration, community leadership, and service.

Applications and nominations are now being accepted for the Greater Burlington Leadership Class of 2026 – 2027. Individuals interested in expanding their leadership skills, building community connections, and making a meaningful impact in the Greater Burlington area are encouraged to apply or nominate someone who would be a great fit for the program.
