Today is the final day to donate to Trails of Hope before I present the final amount to Haven! I am THRILLED with the generosity and so excited to offer this sum to Haven to continue their efforts. Below is their mission and all of you have helped them to continue to achieve it!

"HAVEN NH, formerly known as A Safe Place and SASS, officially merged in July of 2015, making it the largest violence prevention and support services agency in NH.

HAVEN is dedicated to addressing public health through violence prevention and providing services to improve the well-being of children and families. Preventing abuse and providing support for those impacted by domestic and sexual violence leads to healthier, more secure children and adults.

Our mission is to prevent sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking, and to support and empower all women, men, non-binary and transgender adults, youth and families to heal from abuse and rebuild their lives."

Our vision is to eliminate domestic and sexual violence through education, support and social change.

In 2024, I rode 100 miles along the stunning coastline of Massachusetts to raise awareness and funding for victims of domestic violence and Haven of Portsmouth. This was much more than a personal challenge; it was a powerful journey of hope and empowerment for so many. Through the incredibly generous

Hello from Vermont!!
I haven’t been able to post much due to lack of power and service, but here is an update for you all!

On Tuesday, my mom and I rode 23.42 miles along the Greenway Trail to the Island Line Causeway. This was an outstanding and beautiful ride!!! It was flat, mostly paved and incredibly pretty!
From there, I drove to the park and ride in Swanton and hopped on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail with my gear in a Travoy trailer behind my bike. Honestly…I had no idea what I was in for.

The trail appeared relatively flat, but it was a gradual incline and in 18.7 miles I gained 947ft in elevation. I won’t lie, it was very….very hard. The trail was gravel and I had no idea how much harder it would be to ride on gravel, especially while towing my gear and with a road bike. There were tears. I was supposed to go 34 miles but I literally couldn’t do it anymore and hitched a ride with a local to my campsite at mile 18.7. My butt was killing me, I was totally out of steam, and it would have taken me well into the darkness of night to finish. FYI - if you look up distance on Google maps for biking, the baseline speed is 10mph. This was not possible on this trail with my gear in tow. I could barely make 6mph.
I’ve learned a LOT this time around and will for sure do a bit morere research and perhaps get a new bike/gear set up for next yearsr! But life is all about lessons!!

I arrived safe and sound at my campsite and decided I couldn’t pursue my next two goals - 60 miles today and nearly 80 tomorrow.

This morning, I rode 35 miles (I forgot to start the app for the ride from the campground to the trailhead so five miles is missing) from Jeffersonville to Swanton on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. It was an easier day, as I left my trailer and gear at the campground and retrieved it later with my car.
Today’s ride was much more enjoyable, although still a challenge! Riding through Vermont farm towns and along riversides with little more than bird songs to listen to was pretty beautiful.

I’m proud of my 77 miles, and although I feel a bit of shame for knowing I can’t complete what I committed to, I plan to ride at least 20-30 more tomorrow, for a total of around 100 and will be happy with whatever I achieve because I’ve worked hard for a wonderful cause.

Thank you ALL for your continued support!! From sponsoring me, to sharing the page and my efforts, to checking in on me and offering encouragement and kind words. You all make it possible for me to keep going no matter how hard it gets!!!

Here’s to Haven and their amazing efforts, and don’t forget the Spotfund page will be live and accepting donations through Sunday!!!

Look for more updates tomorrow as I finish up!

If you've ever walked consistently in the shadow of an abuser...

I want so badly for you to see how beautiful and powerful the sunlight is outside of that shadow. It may take time to step into it. It may take encouragement from loved ones, or perhaps even from strangers. It may take a very hefty leap or even a push.

But I want for each and every victim to feel that warmth, feel that safety, of the light wrapping itself around you, your heart, and your mind. That feeling doesn't fade. But the pain of abuse will.

If you need that encouragement, that push, or any sort of support and guidance, please know that HAVEN NH is available 24-7 to do just that.
To help you go 💜💜💜💜💜

Everyone, meet Erin!
Last year, Erin rode 100 miles along the coast of Massachusetts to raise money for HAVEN. This year, on May 12th, Erin will be riding again through two trails in the state of Vermont for a total of 215 miles! 🚲❤️ All of the proceeds that she's collecting will go directly to our critical 24-7 support services for those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.

It's inspiring and generous folks like Erin, that allow us to continue serving all of Rockingham and Strafford counties. If you feel inspired, please click the link below to support Erin on her journey!
