A big thank you to our faithful friends, the Burlington Lions Club. They are a wonderful group of people who year after year sell hot dogs and soda at the B-E Back to School Fair and then turn around and donate all the proceeds back to BECK to use towards supplies for B-E students. The B-E Back to School Fair is volunteer run. Volunteers fundraise for the event, organize the booths, entertainment, and partnerships, and coordinate fair day of to maximize the enjoyment of students and families.

The 2025 fair was run by a core group of 7 dedicated volunteers (with support of partners and day-of folks of course!). Two of those volunteers with retire this year for some well deserved rest!

This means that for the B-E Back to School Fair to continue we need YOU!! We need two to five more individuals who are willing to be part of the core group of volunteers.

What do volunteers do? Attend monthly meetings March to June, meet twice a month in July and August, and then once more in September. We divide up the tasks. For example, one volunteer reaches out to student groups and creates the stage entertainment schedule.

The last two years we have partnered with the Skagit Valley Family YMCA for the B-E Back to School Fair. The YMCA brings so much fun to the fair with the Kids Activity Zone. This year there was pickleball, Gaga ball, tie dye, and much more! Thanks for being such an amazing partner YMCA!

The B-E Back to School Fair is made awesome through the efforts of groups like VFW Auxiliary of Post 5056 and American Legion Post 91 who spend the entire year gathering school supplies to hand out to students! These folks bring so much heart to the fair! Thank you to all the amazing groups who join us year after year!!!
