I began doing odd jobs , grass cutting ,volunteering and helping senior citizens in the city of Bellevue , Kentucky. Then, in 1986 I started a small business with two objectives. One, to be successful and the second, how to help those in need in the community. With the help of my family, friends and other volunteers we had dances for children in the area to keep them off the streets, helped those with needs of food and clothing, help with payments on their electric/gas, home repairs and medical bills. I started a Window Fan/AC drive in cooperation with the Brighton Center in 1988. Today, my mom, Jorine Combs,my wife, Debbie Hankins Combs and volunteers work directly with other non-profits on specific events to raise money to help those in need. We have events to celebrate kindness, inspiration and we work directly with schools helping them to raise money. 100% of every dollar goes directly to those in need.
My prayer 3 times a day:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for this food and thank you for this day. I pray for those who have no food, that they receive food. I pray for those who have no hope, that they receive hope. I give thanks for all that I have already received and ask for your guidance for my decisions every day. I pray for my children, family and friends.
