The Form Collective

The Form Collective 2017-2025 The Form Collective is a creative workspace for emerging ceramic artists who seek to grow in their craft.

We exist at the intersection between hobbyist and professional, offering studio space and shared kilns to support artists on their journey. The Form is a collective of ceramics artists in the South End of Burlington, VT sharing life, work-space, resources, community, and creativity. This vision emerged through the process of Dust + Form relocating to Burlington, VT from Minneapolis, MN in the Wint

er of 2016/2017.We were looking for space and kiln access to transition our business, but kept hitting walls on space and resources. While trying to decide on how to progress, we thought, "If what we are looking for really isn't here, why don't we create it?"

It took a lot of time, discernment, and the beautiful tight community that BTV is known for, but we found a perfect space in the South End Arts District at 180 Flynn. We sold a car and many of possessions, and bought a kiln from Sheffield Pottery. Months of logistical hurdles, unplanned expenses, and long hours later, we are live! Our goal is to create a place for ceramic artists to progress from hobbyists to small businesses. From the amazing organizations like the BCA Pottery Co-op and UVM, The Form will be a place for passionate artists to make and develop their business for the larger scale retail world, without the demand to fully invest capital into the resources needed to do so. From kiln access, making space, storage, coordination on raw material ordering, knowledge from other artists working through similar issue, support, and people to work alongside in an otherwise isolated profession, The Form will provide an encouraging environment for new Made in Vermont businesses to flourish. The Form will forever be listening to the heartbeat of the Burlington ceramic world, and intentionally dynamic to meet the needs of this community. Please let us know if you have ideas or needs of your own that The From may be able to support.

After 8 beautiful years as The Form Collective, we’re entering a new chapter β€” starting July 1st, the community pottery studio will become Center Centre πŸ’›

Founder Brielle Rovito is passing the torch to the amazing Sarah Noel, a seasoned ceramicist and educator with a deep love for communal spaces and creative learning.

She’ll be carrying forward the same spirit of creativity and community, with a refreshed focus on education, classes, and workshops.

In this new chapter, Center Centre will be a space where folks from all backgrounds can share in the magic of clay, explore their creativity, and build community.

The official launch of Center Centre is coming later this summer β€” stay tuned πŸŽ‰
