Congrats to Queen City member, Leonard, for being awarded the Meritorious Service Jewel at Vermont Grand Lodge - one of the highest honors in Odd Fellowship! This award is officially presented to lodge members who have gone significantly "above and beyond" expectations in their service, dedication, and contributions to the Order and their local communities.
Read what PG, , had to say about Leonard:
"I am privileged and honored to rise to speak to the Meritorious Service Award for Brother Leonard Hendee. It’s difficult to convey the breadth of the work Leonard does for both our Lodge, and the greater community during his years as an Odd Fellow. A few months ago he celebrated 10 years with Queen City Lodge #1. During this time, he has regularly shown up early, left late, and helps our neighbors in distress every week. Leonard is one of our most regular volunteers for Ritual Work, the Music Venue Project, and the North End Food Pantry. He attends our public and private events, shares with a giving heart, and fully embodies our command to Visit The Sick, Relieve the Distressed, Educate the Orphan, and Bury the Dead. I have been particularly inspired by his actions, as I would close the lodge with him after a long night of live music, and I’d see him the next morning getting the pantry ready before others had even awakened. It has been remarkable to work with him over the past year as he chaperones our music shows, contributes endlessly to our lodge, and proudly serves those in need. I proclaim loudly, to whomever wants to hear, that Brother Leonard has more than earned this meritorious service commendation and has my personal gratitude, and the gratitude of the membership of our Lodge."
We love Leonard!! ❤️❤️❤️
