BJSA TRAVEL SOCCER TRYOUTS BEGIN NEXT WEEK!! PLEASE REGISTER NOW!!

BJSA will be forming new travel soccer teams for the Fall 2025 through Spring 2026 seasons and tryouts begin next week. To view the complete tryout schedule, please visit our travel soccer webpage by clicking below. All players must register online for the Fall 2026 season before they can participate.

Please register as soon as possible as the BJSA Board needs some additional time to sort through the impacts of the US Youth Soccer age changes.

Additionally, all new travel players, including those trying out for the new U9 teams (birth year 2018), must upload an ID-style photo and a copy of their birth certificate during the registration process.

BJSA TRAVEL SOCCER TRYOUTS ARE JUST AROUND THE CORNER!

BJSA will be forming new travel soccer teams for the Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 seasons with travel tryouts beginning the week of June 1st. All players must be registered for the Fall 2026 season before they can participate in the tryouts. Fall 2026 registration is open now. The complete travel tryout schedule will be posted on the BJSA website within the next week.

This year, we wanted to share an important update regarding youth soccer age group structure that will take effect for the Fall 2026 season. BJSA forms brand new U9 boys and girls travel teams and next year's U9 teams will be formed along the updated guidelines from U.S. Youth Soccer (USYS).

What is Changing:

Beginning this fall, affiliated U.S. Youth Soccer (USYS) organizations are shifting from calendar-year age groups (January 1–December 31) to a school-year format (August 1–July 31). This change is being adopted nationally to better align players with their classmates and peers.

What This Means for BJSA:

BJSA will be aligning with this new age group structure starting Fall 2026. As a result:

Some players may move to a different age group than in previous seasons
Teams will now be formed based on the August 1 – July 31 birthdate range
Rosters and team placements may look different than in prior years
Why the Change:

This update is designed to:

Keep players with their school classmates
Improve team continuity as players move through age levels
Enhance the overall player experience and long-term development

Communicate team formation details
Provide guidance on what this means specifically for your child

SOCCER SEASON IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER! REGISTER NOW FOR SPRING SOCCER WITH BJSA BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

A late fee will apply to any registration received after March 16th.

PLEASE NOTE: Some of our age groups may fill up BEFORE the late fee deadline so don't delay! By registering early, you also help us determine how many teams and coaches we'll need for the upcoming season.

At this time, we plan to start the season the week of April 20th with opening day on Saturday April 25th. Coaches will likely begin contacting their teams sometime during the week of April 13th.

BJSA is in need of committed parent volunteers more than ever so while you're registering, please consider volunteering as your child's coach. Coaching can be a rewarding experience and BJSA provides all of the tools and resources necessary for a successful season, even if you've never played the game of soccer. Each season, our registration capacity directly correlates to the number of volunteer head coaches which means the more coaches we have, the more players we can accept into the program.

In an effort to attract more coaches within our youngest age groups, BJSA will be offering a registration discount to those parents who volunteer as a HEAD coach at the Micro level. If you are interested, please reach out to us for a discount code before you register.

Winter Soccer Programs for Ages 3–6!

Keep your youngest players active and developing their skills this winter with our training partners Soccer XS! We are excited to offer local indoor programs designed specifically for early learners in our community:

Soccer Heroes Winter Adventures (Ages 3–4): A fun, high-energy introduction to the game focused on motor skills and basic coordination through imaginative play.

Winter Skills Academy (Ages 5–6): Focused on building fundamental ball control, confidence, and a love for the game in a positive environment.

These programs are the perfect way to bridge the gap between main seasons and ensure your child stays active during the colder months.

Happy Fall Season to all of our great BJSA families!

Great news … BJSA is once again offering Skills Clinics for the Fall 2025. We're partnering with SoccerXS and will have the following 2 opportunities:
1) Goal Keeper Clinics on Wednesdays on Field D from 5:30-6:30pm beginning on 9/24. This clinic will run for 5 weeks and is open to players U9 and above, either from our Travel or Rec programs.

2) Speed & Agility Clinics on Mondays on Field C from 5:30-6:30pm beginning on 9/22. This clinic will also run for 5 weeks, and is open to players U9 and above, either from our Travel or Rec programs for a fee.
