While still a member of the Youth Arts Education Council, Melissa Napoli was already making things happen.

Press releases. A revitalized art club. A student ambassador role. And now a platform called Art in Adversity, dedicated to amplifying student stories about resilience and creative expression.

"I want to make a positive impact on the world through advocacy and creative expression, a realization I developed through taking part in this organization." -Melissa

Earlier this month, Arts Ed NJ hosted an intimate Tea Talks gathering where four members of the Youth Arts Ed Council, Alessandra, Natalia, Pari, and Mel, shared their experiences in the council and the ways arts education has shaped their lives. Each student spoke with honesty, passion, and purpose, giving attendees a firsthand look at what it means to grow as a young advocate for arts education in New Jersey. It was a beautiful afternoon of student voice, community, and connection, and we are incredibly proud of these four young leaders.

Arts programs disappear from New Jersey schools every year. Quietly. Without debate. Without data. Without student voices in the room.
Arts Ed NJ is changing that.

Our end of year campaign starts today. Meet the students who are making the case. Link in bio.
