Spotlight: Cohort 2 Update - Anisa!

After joining Arts Ed NJ's Youth Arts Education Council, Anisa completed her first year at Brookdale Community College and discovered a passion for game design and animation! Along the way, she's picked up skills in 3D modeling, programming, video editing, and digital art, giving her creativity even more room to grow.

Anisa credits her time with Arts Ed NJ for inspiring her to become her own advocate, seeking out scholarships and opportunities to keep unleashing her creativity. The program also helped her build skills in teamwork, communication, leadership, and self-advocacy.

Looking ahead, Anisa is excited to keep growing her portfolio, find new opportunities in game design and animation, and connect with fellow artists and mentors along the way. As she puts it, ArtsEdNJ taught her the importance of taking action and advocating for yourself.

Spotlight: Youth Arts Ed Council Cohort One Update!

Since joining ArtsEdNJ's inaugural Youth Arts Education Council in Spring 2024, Gracin has turned a love for the arts into a growing career in leadership, advocacy, and administration.

Now a junior at Rowan University, Gracin is pursuing a B.A. in Theatre Arts (Design & Technology), a major in Leadership & Social Innovation, and is enrolled in Rowan's 4+1 M.A. program in Arts Administration. Along the way, they've gained hands-on experience through internships with EgoPo Classic Theatre and the Marie Rader Presenting Series, and taken on leadership roles as Volunteer Coordinator for the NJ Thespian Festival Adult Board, Technical Director for Rowan Lab Theatre, and Vice President of Rowan's USITT chapter — all while working in Rowan's Box Office and Admissions office.

Gracin credits the ArtsEdNJ Council with teaching them the power of arts advocacy, turning early doubts into action and equipping them to champion accessible arts education. Looking ahead, Gracin hopes to lead in higher education as an Admissions Director or Dean of a performing arts institution, continuing the fight for equitable arts education for all.
