PMI - Champlain Valley Chapter

PMI - Champlain Valley Chapter They call it Projects. We call it Life! We are a volunteer-only non-profit organization serving the Project Management and Business Community of Vermont.

Life is a Project. You are the Manager of it! Vision Statement

Some may argue that an organizational vision statement is not required but, for the unindoctrinated, the vision statement defines what the organization has set out to accomplish. In May, 1997, the forty-three charter members of this chapter voted to accept the following as our chapter's vision statement:

"The PMI Champlain Valley Ch

apter will be recognized as a dynamic organization of Project Managers dedicated to serving the business and educational communities of the Champlain Valley Region of Vermont and New York through the advancement of Project Management." Voting to accept this vision has provided our chapter with a common "window" from which we perceive the chapter in the future tense. It also begins to define the expectations of our stakeholders. The stakeholders include our membership of today, tomorrow and yesterday. It also includes the regional businesses and academic communities. After all, it is these organizations that provide our membership with employment and economic opportunities. It is the chapter's belief that our first challenge as a chapter is to test our resolve of being "dedicated" to our business and academic communities, both for-profit and not-for-profit. This challenge requires our chapter to demonstrate our dedication to these communities of stakeholders "through the advancement of Project Management." Making our chapter vision a reality will require us to focus on the primary stakeholders who are not chapter members.

Topic: Project Professionals in Business Transformation
Transformation is no longer a short-lived initiative. It is not a program. It is not linear. Instead, the world’s leading organizations now embrace transformation as a challenging, stretching, exciting and essential constant in their lives.
In fact, in this current VUCA world with disruptive waves, transformation has become a constant, and as competitive pressures mount, organizations around the world need to to be agile and responsive.
Consequently, they are now transforming their businesses to save costs, create more client-centricity, restore stakeholder confidence and/or embed new business models
Unfortunately, project managers and executives are struggling to execute the transformation initiatives.
The transformation series designed By PMI and Brightline provide the right resources to ensure that the strategy is translated into tangible programs and projects, and offer the best practices, tools and techniques to help Project managers and executives drive business transformations in line with the organizational strategies.

With Brightline's Transformation Compass, Practitioners will learn how to avoid common pitfalls and ensure that the transformative initiatives are successful.
Learn about the PMI Brightline Initiative from the current director, Tahirou Assane, and the relationship to business transformation.
